Shafts came safely yesterday with me tracking the FedEx guy down the block!  Shafts are gorgeous and the personalization was such an added surprise!  Immediately put in the driver shaft in play (Ventus TR Red Velocore) for a scramble event today....and our team pulled out the win by 3!  Scramble even was very well done ($90 entry with drinks included, lunch, two mulligans per player with no additional purchases allowed) and pace of play was crazy good for a charity event (played in 4 hours flat).

 

Was playing with three really accomplished players and kept up with them without a problem!  Driving average today was a shade under 304 with some healthy pops!  

 

Even mishits were completely playable with dispersion tighter than I was used to.  Since I didn't need to swing out of my shoes to get the distance, swing felt much smoother, and the contact was much more consistent.  The ONLY noticeable difference was that it felt more "active" in the transition and a little looser than the Tensei Blue I was playing, but I quickly got use to it and it improved throughout the round.  Launch was noticeably higher with great rollout and the balls were not touched by the wind like I was used to.

 

I was so pleased with the shaft in my driver today, I got home and purchased the 3W (Ventus TR Red Velocore) immediately for two rounds next weekend.

 

I ordered an Axiom for the AW and will be taking the set to the fitter on Monday to be installed.  Hoping they will be done before the weekend!

Great reviews guys!  Very jealous of your awesome experience at @Fujikura Golf  I still have the original Ventus Blue in my TSR3 (non-velocore) & love it.  I'd wish to get the same experience you guys did, just to figure out if there are more yards out there.  Or am I stuck where I'm at & have to live with it?  I'd give anything for another 10 - 15 yards, like some of you got.

Christmas in June!!! My shafts arrived today. Thank you so much @Fujikura Golf Just finished building the irons, hybrid, and fwy woods. Can’t wait to get them on the range tomorrow…..

Looking good!  I have a Ventus Red TR coming for my 3W and picked up another for the set AW.  Have three rounds in the next few days so I'll have mine installed on Wednesday!

I am going to get the Axioms into my 2014 TM TP first though, just to see the improvement in numbers with the old faithfuls. Well, if we're talking real old faithfuls, it would be the Maxfli Revolution Blacks, but nah 😁

Quick update on driver shafts, I don't have the data download yet, but snapped some pictures. These were hit on an indoor Trackman with new Srixon Z Star XV, Cobra King LTD 9* head (yes, the Spaceport one). I did this after hitting an hour's worth of irons, so I was a little gassed, which caused some crappy swings, affecting the consistency. I guess that's kinda like real life on the course though. Average of 10 drives with the Red and 5 drives with the Speeder (will isolate 5 of the Red once I get the download). 

 

Ventus TR Red 6-X

SS 104.0

BS 153.0 (highest was 156.7)

Spin 2488

Launch 11.2 

Descent 32.9 

 

Speeder VC TS 6.2-X 

SS 103.8

BS 152.4 (highest was 155.4)

Spin 2382

Launch 9.8

Of course I scrolled over to get the launch and land angles, so no distances lol. I think each group had some outliers that made things closer than they are, but I think those stats are telling, esp the launch. 

 

In terms of feel and playability, I'll reiterate that the Red loads much easier for me and I can feel the heft of the Speeder when I hit them side by side. The Red almost feels "lighter" but yet with improvement in speed and likely, dispersion. I honestly think that the on-course testing is best for dispersion vs in a vacuum on a TM. 

 

The good thing about driver shafts is that it's easy to swap back and forth to test, so stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.

PS - I know it's not the same as playing outside, on the course, but messing with all the TM data is fun and addictive in its own way.

Just got back from the range. Besides the smokey skies here it was a great day to try new clubs and shaft. The wind was into me on the range which I prefer because it magnifies any error and you can truly see what the ball is doing. One thing to note, instead of installing the Axiom shafts in my current PXG Gen3 XP set, I was able to find a brand new set of PXG Gen3 P irons for a crazy low price and installed them in those. I installed the Ventus TR shafts in my TM Sim Max driver, Ping g425 3 & 7wd, and the Ventus HB Blue 6 in my Ping g425 4 hybrid. So here goes my Ventus and Axiom review:

 

 

Short irons

After warming up I began hitting my PW. Started hitting a couple knock down shots and first thing I noticed was how stable the shaft felt but could feel it kick at the ball. Was able to keep the ball down and hit my targets. Besides the feel, I saw more distance than I expected since the lofts are 2* weaker on the P irons vs the XP irons.

Then went on to full shots. Right away saw a much higher initial launch and peak height. HOWEVER, I didn’t lose any distance, in fact even with a 2* weaker club I was hitting it as far or maybe a couple yards further than my XPs. The shafts are so stable with a great kick at the ball and so consistent. I was swinging it well today, and not sure if it’s Velocore, but I hardly missed the center of the face all evening. I saw the same results with the 9 iron and 8 iron. Just so consistent shot after shot, with buttery feel. 
 

Mid irons

Loved seeing the 7,6, and 5 irons coming out in a much higher window. Once again, even though the lofts are weaker than my XP’s and getting a higher launch and peak height, I didn’t lose any distance or control. Obviously I’m seeing higher launch, and higher peak height and decent angle but with no ballooning. I must be gaining ball speed since there is no loss of distance. Feel again is just so soft and pure. Just like the short irons, very consistent strike and carry yardages.

 

Hybrid

Definitely higher launch and peak height, but once again no ballooning into the wind. It’s carrying a little further as well. Like what I saw out in California when we visited @Fujikura Golf I noticed the ball not curving as much. I’ll need to adjust because I normally allowed for 5-10yd draw, but with Ventus it just wants to go straight, or even just fall a touch right. There’s a green on the range where I normally hit my hybrid to into the wind. Balls today were carrying that green. Can really feel the shaft kicking at the ball, but never feel like I can’t feel the head. It feels great, and I like it, but could see how some of the higher speed guys may really like an Axiom in a hybrid or driving iron. 
 

Fwy woods

Same story here, higher launch, higher peak height, and definitely longer. No ballooning, and I would say close to 10yds more carry but once again, such a stable feel, nice kick at the ball, and such a consistent ball flight. I was able to flight it down when needed as well, so I would not say this was just a high ball hitting shaft. Not sure what it is, but the shaft and clubhead never seemed to get out of control. 
 

Driver

This was exactly what I saw when I hit in California. So consistent with the stable feel but lively kick at the ball. VERY straight ball flight that I will have to adjust to. No doubt, I saw the same 10yd- 12yd carry distance increase today that I saw at my fitting. 
 

In summary, Just WOW! I’m more excited about my game now than I have been in years. I’ve always been a consistent, straight hitter, but lost most of my strength and distance when I hurt my shoulder. I’m playing in the morning and can’t wait to get these new shafts on the course. If I can add 10yds of carry to my driver, fwy woods, and hybrid with a tighter dispersion, it changes my game. In addition, if I can increase my launch angle, peak height, and decent angle on my irons with no loss of distance or control that also will make me a better player and allow me to attack flags that I couldn’t before. Thank you so much @Fujikura Golf for designing products to help every player regardless of ability or swing speed play better golf! You guys are THE BEST!

Just got back from the course. I was able to confirm all of the performance I saw on the range yesterday.

 

DRIVER

No doubt I’m hitting it further with the TR Blue. I was hitting it past my normal spots and hitting it in the same spots on the holes that were into the wind. The ball flight is also very straight. Very impressed!

 

FWY WOODS

HUGE improvement in distance and ball flight! On the advice of Andrew, who’s @Fujikura Golf fitter I went with a TR Blue 5R for my 3wd. Like everything else, he was right. I’m carrying it about 10-15yds further, but no loss of control. 
 

HYBRID

Only hit it twice, but picked up a few yards of carry, more peak height, and straighter ball flight. I used to play a draw with my old set up, but it just wants to fly high and straight.

 

IRONS

These are the star of the show. The Axiom shafts are giving me everything I wanted. Higher peak height, steeper decent angle, but no loss of distance or control. As I stated, I built a new set of irons with the Axiom shafts that are 2* weaker than my previous gamers. Im hitting these irons the same distance as my old gamers, but higher and even more control. The feel of these shafts are the best I’ve ever felt. Buttery soft feel, lively kick, but so stable and consistent. Can’t wait to get more range sessions and rounds in this weekend!

@hammergolf great to hear that. My Trackman session reconfirmed that I need more launch and spin, so I can't wait to get the shafts into my irons. Driver has been solid thus far, and I might even raise the loft on it. 

 

Also considering Axiom or MCI in the wedges, but one thing at a time...

Good stuff! I’m second guessing myself a little with my hybrid. I like it, and it’s definitely better than what I had in it. I’m going to stick with it for now, but an Axiom 75 might be in the future because I just love the feel. I like my wedges as is, but it’s a thought.
