So based on the feedback from Chad at Fulikura, the shaft looks legit based on the pictures I sent him. Minus the whole lack of SN. 🤣

 

Global Golf has a used Black Velocore 6S, so I'm going to get that to compare to mine on my next sim session..

Yes, I've been talking to him about it this whole time. He had asked for pictures since it didn't have the SN under the grip and had that funky sticker.

I guess I don't see what's obviously fake about it other than the price I paid. If you put it next to the real thing, I can't tell a difference and I certainly can't tell by hitting it. 

 

That's why I want to get the real one and do a side by side.

Its obviously fake because you bought it from aliexpress in China. It is 100% not the same shaft as a real Ventus Black.

 

The butt section gives it away besides the really bad graphics. The velocore logo is way too small. I mean come on lol

 

Look at the carbon wrap layup on a real shaft:

 

Yours is glossy and way more embossed and different.

 

I've seen it and owned one like yours before. It is NOT a Fujikura shaft. I cant recall which one it is but its an older shaft.

So the shaft that was in the Stealth 2 wasn't what they said it was, so I returned that and ordered a Ventus Black TR 6S with Velocore that will be here next week.

I'm curious how the "real" shaft does against the fake one. I've spent a lot of money on this little side project, but it's been fun and it's only money.

The velocore logo looks too far up  (too far away from the tip) on the shaft.  I have some ventus shafts that are untipped and the velocore is closer to the tip than that.

Yeah, I thought the Velocore logo was supposed to be like 4" and this is more like 6". 

 

Just debating if I should pull the tip off the Autoflex shaft or bug Haywood for another adapter. 🤣

It has always seemed to me that the Ventus graphics (and product model) were perfectly designed for the counterfeit market.

I thought the TR was the Velocore shaft, but the shaft I got from Global Golf is Velocore but not TR. The fake shaft is the TR. The graphics are lower on the legit shaft, the Velocore logo is larger on the legit one as well as being closer to the adapter. I will hit these on the sim tomorrow morning. The TR might be why they aren't lined up, but the Velocore is clearly wrong.

Purple is fake, green is real. I will say that hitting to the right is a new development. It used to be anything from straight to slice, but nothing to the right.

You should buy a second fake one and see if the results are similar. I bet you'll get quite a bit of variation from shaft to shaft as theres absolutely no QC involved.

As I've said before, I bet I could buy the same shaft from the same guy and it could be different. No telling what this shaft ACTUALLY is, but it ain't bad for $35. 🤣

Also the fake shaft is a TR while the real isn't. Global Golf doesn't have a Black TR 6S currently, so that test will have to wait still. 

 

I think the real shaft was slightly more consistent, but it could be my imagination.

thanks for spending the time and money to do this. It is very interesting to see. Whatever conclusion each reader wants to draw I am not gonna argue but just interesting to see that the fake one (at least this one shaft - because like another reader said maybe the fake shafts have wide QC problem but same as to say that another real shaft won’t be different either - it is like how ppl used to say that when you hit a tester driver well at the store you should buy that exact club because ordering the another club with each components’ tolerance for error, the resulting product could be vastly different) isn’t a piece of hot garbage wrapped w fancy paint.

It's been a lot of fun. I've spent some money, but I've learned so much. 

 

What's interesting is these shafts feel very similar. I'm not sure if it's placebo or if they used a shaft with similar characteristics. The Autoflex is crazy whippy like they are supposed to be..

Always makes me wonder…how much tech placed in actually translates to differences as I would says in all ppl even the likes of Tiger or Jack, the human element must still be the biggest variable that overrides a lot of the shaft differences. Obviously some would argue you want to control as much of the variables that you can so like the shaft but who to say the day you are testing for the shaft that your human variable is the status quo or the anomaly such that when you have the “fitted” shaft it doesn’t fit your status quo since you were “fitted” on your was your anomaly good/bad swing.

So I bought a Stealth 2 with Ventus Red TR 5R that is supposed to be more appropriate for my speed. While the dispersion is slightly tighter, I was 10-15 yards further with the fake Black 6S. 🤣

Curious if this one fits the bill for being fake. First two things I noticed are how small Velocore is on the black shaft and how the font of the 6 doesn’t match the real shaft in red. It appears to match the non TR shafts but from what I can find online the TR Black 6-s has a different font for the 6. 
 

immediately after receiving I noticed the size of Velocore and pulled the grip. No sticker under the grip either. 

 

Thoughts on if this one is real or fake?

I would say that is as fake as mine is, at least. The size and placement of the Velocore logo was a big one that Fujikura verified.

 

<edit> the upper stickers look good. Are they in the same place? It looks like one is higher but wasn't sure if they are even in that picture.

The upper is pretty close, the shafts are misaligned in the pic. Not as much texture look in the silver part but the font is what I noticed most.

is there any chance these fake shafts are defects ones pulled from the lines these shafts are made at. I dont think its that unlikely an employee could do that. I know someone who worked at a shoe manufacturer and they where able to take defects the company would have otherwise thrown away
