Anyone purchased a set of irons from Diamond Tour?   Specifically the Ping, Callaway or Taylormade "repelica/clone".   Looking to maybe purchase a set to leave at our vacation home to have handy when room does not allow me to take main gamers with me in the car.    Thoughts.???????

While not irons, I have bought a driver, fairway wood, hybrids, wedges (heads only), shafts, grips and other club making accessories from Diamond Tour multiple times over the last year.  I have been very satisfied with their order processing and timely shipping.  Never had a problem.  Will not hesitate to buy again from them.

Are the clubs as good as or better than major brands?  Probably not.  But then again, I am not a super low handicap or scratch golfer and didn't play or score better with the brand name clubs each Diamond Tour club replaced.  The ones I bought look and perform pretty well especially for all the dollars I saved over brand names.

They have gone on to create new club designs (Sub70) which are top notch, so they know what they are doing.

I did not know that Diamond Tour and Sub70 were both operated by the same folks and related.  I now see they operate from the same address in Illinois.  Thanks for that information.  It might make a difference to me for future purchases.

My last iron purchase, I considered Sub70 forged irons.  Since I only wanted to buy the heads and then custom build everything myself, I bought Maltby MPC Forged iron heads instead at a great price.  And I didn't know anything about Sub70 as a vendor.

They have also gone on to revive SMT Golf - somewhere between DiamondTour and Sub70 and those can be had both assembled and/or heads only. AND they also operate Hurricane Golf which is a discount OEM seller.

AND they also make a great Philly Cheese Steak at their new DuckHook Deli.....ok, that one I made up.

I bought the LX 22 irons earlier this summer for a heavier graphite shaft experiment. They look nice, but I questioned 2 items regarding quality control. The 5i and 6i heads weighed the same, making the 5i to heavy for swing weight purposes. Plus I am not sure how close to advertised loft specs the heads are. I have no weigh to measure myself. Like anything, you get what you pay for and if it appears to good to be true, it likely is. But if you are on a budget, not a bad buy if you want 'shiney' new.

The owner of Hurricane/diamond Tour/Sub-70 used to work at SMT, apparently where he got his start.  I purchased the SMT CB-3 this fall.  They're almost exactly the same as the Sub-70 639 series, which makes sense since it's the same owner.  SMT also has the same customs fitting selections that Sub-70 has too.  You are able to buy heads/components only as well.

Always love me pics of the Hogan FTX’s! While no longer in the bag, I don’t see ever selling mine.

Like many clubs the website pics don’t do them justice. How do they play?

Yeah, I like them a lot. Forgiving and a miss isn't as harsh as the FTX. It can be done, but I'm not as easily able to work the ball both ways. Not really a knock on them because they're very smooth. I never feel like I have to swing hard or anything. I know whatever I use will fly long and high.

I think between the lofts being 2* stronger than the FTX and the soft-ish tipped TT multistep (stiff flex) shaft, they fly much higher than the FTX which has the Apex 3 shaft, which is a regular flex. Probably about 1- 1 1/2 clubs longer.

Yeah I don't think I will either. Probably will reahaft them at some point with a stiff flex. My miss was always left with that regular flex apex 3. When bought them it was between those, S-59 and Nike pro combo. The s-59 are some really good clubs too. It was a toss up, but the pings needed grips immediately and I wasn't in the mood to do them lol. The Nikes were good too, just didn't have the same feeling as the other two. My all time faves are Mizuno Grad MP. Always kick myself for selling them.

That’s a good review. I’m hoping they get the new MultiStep soon or I will have to assemble them myself. I’m kind of between these and the hollow irons.
