Ha thanks for the mention.

The choices of featured groups though say it all. Pretty much all generic Americans. And when one of the choice is literally the worst pairing in the field….

Is that really the case though?

Maybe my info isn't complete but I see 4 featured groups with 'only' 5 of the 8 golfers being American? Maybe I don't have all the pairings?

I agree though that they are a weird selection.

I can see:

Maybe there are some other featured groups?

Looks like these are Featured Groups for Thursday R1.

Guessing they will have completely different Featured Groups for R2, to ensure suitable airtime for the leading pros.

...Looking at the tee time pairings ... quite a few others look more compelling! (but maybe the LPGA/network's assumption = more airtime opportunity for the usual leading pros during the weekend?)

e.g.

..Brooke/Angel (11:35am)

..Atthaya/XiYu Lin (12:05pm)

..JYK and Minjee (12:15pm)

..Celine Boutier/ Lilia Vu (12:35pm)

All walking scorers were sent home this morning after a couple attempts to start the ProAm. Drat! I had Celine Boutier! It's quite a torrential downpour here in Naples. I was told that besides the huge outdoor stage erected for Carrie Underwood's performance, they built one INSIDE, too. 👍

Tomorrow I'm scheduled to score for Peiyun Chien and Anna Nordqvist.

Featured groups are not supposed to make broadcast TV irrelevant. I think they intentionally leave out the top 8.

I just saw the analysts for the ESPN coverage:

"Will Haskett will host the Featured Groups coverage with three-time U.S. Solheim Cup player Gerina Mendoza as analyst. Chantel McCabe will provide reports and live interviews, alongside LPGA Tour players Maria Fassi and Jessica Korda."

It will be interesting seeing those ladies' perspectives.   I hope they surprise like Christina Kim's commentary did previously this year.

Thanks CME Group; this chart put things in perspective:

Unfortunately only the US can print trillions of dollars and get away with it, as it's the world's reserve currency, which mainly ends up in large US corporations that can then use it as prize money for publicity and advertising!  I think the first American born player born to American born parents in the RR would be Lexi at #28. The strength of female golf is in or has come from the Asia/Pacific region but the LPGA is run by the US and dominated only because of the prize money they can put up. Be interesting to see if the Arabs through the PIF up their purses on the LET next year after making an 11 billion loss in 2023 on investments.

Perhaps Fassi can find something she can make the cut at...

Ok so this will be taken down by LG, I'm going for 3 stroke win.. 🙏 I'm also going in full euro mode and gonna say Charley will have great week and also due to the good first round pairing , Georgia will go close. Been little of lately but good player on tougher courses... Hope the weather improves!

I wonder if they're going to push back the tee times, or start on schedule and keep the fans off the course so the crews can clean up ahead of the first group.

The LPGA intern presumably is in love with Rose Zhang...

i.e. the only player who got special treatment in this video, with the flames and 'ka-boom' sound effects to accompany her tee shot? (timestamp at 8s mark)

You mean 'The beloved Rose'?

The new American "next Tiger" Rose?

Maybe if she can add 20 more yards to her drives, which appear a bit shorter than LPGA average. Just get the 2024 model driver and do some overspeed training, and it will be a piece of cake, LoL While she's at it improve her sand saves and putting. She seems like a solid player, strong on GIR, but she hasn't struck me as particularly exciting to watch.
