Is there anybody who did not like or think the Mezz Max was an upgrade over their existing putter?

For those of you who use the Mezz Max and state that it is so easy to line up, what helps you with alignment? The alignment mark is very small/a short runway.

For me, it's the fact that it has such a large face that is perpendicular to the target line. The small alignment aid on the top helps but I use a combination of both face and alignment aid. IMO, the rear fangs also help frame the ball.

For me it is easy to line up if you have the correct set up and ball position. If the ball position is not correct it always looks like I am lining up the alignment to the right and I end up pushing the putt.

A couple of things. 1) you can customize alignment mark. 2) Alignment is an easy thing to fix if you practice it. Use an elevated string. I was aligned a bit to the right. Pro fixed my alignment and now it's money. Wrt distance control-not an issue for me at all. YMMV

About the mezz, i am wondering about the grip. When it will due to a change, we would have no choice other than to order a new grip from LAB…

You can order a few spares if you are concerned about their availability in the future.  Or you can use a non-press grip.

That was always the thing I wondered.  If they're designed to only work with the press grip, or if its just one more piece of their technology they like and think it improves the product, but not mandatory.

Both my dad and I gamed scotty Cameron's for years or a decade. Switched to lab golf putters and we have no reason to ever go back. I started with a mezz max and my dad said that putter looks weird but I was sinking putts so he asked if he could try. I let him borrow it just to try out and I never seen it since. I let him have it for Father's day. He had 9 one putts back to back rounds and I had to to buy another one. Now I just got to get my brother to buy in.

I was having a difficult time with alignment as well.  I've always done better with single lines, or minimal alignment aids, etc.  However, I tinkered around with my Mezz and added some white lines to see if it would help and it has.

Worst feeling putter I ever tried….

Completely agree... Until I stopped over rotating the face.  I was excited to get my first LAB putter back in 2016 and was sorely frustrated after I got it and the feel was terrible.  After working with it for a bit I figured out it was me over using my hands.  Once I got the feeling squared away it felt great!  SO...  I ordered the Blade when it came out, and again, I was frustrated that the feel was so bad.  I was really disappointed, but after a short break in period I got it!  The feel was soooo soft, addictive actually, and my putting really took off.  Now after owning (Reno, Blade, Mezz, and Link) I still have BAD feeling putts, but it's nice to have feedback on the bad ones.  The cool thing about the LAB tech is the consistency it provides, when the putt feels bad I know it's me.  It's pretty fun to switch my LAB putters (not because the putting is terrible) because it's fun to use different styles.  The LAB putters all provide me with a similar stroke feel and confidence, I know what to expect.  The good strokes feel incredible; I guess if there's a positive to the bad feeling ones, many of them still go in...

I know so many people love these that I keep trying to convince myself to like them.  then every time I stand over a ball with one in my hand I realize that LAB putters just aren't for me.  But I'm in the mood to tinker with putters this year so may game one for a bit just to see if somehow I capture the magic.  LAB putter coming to my club in 2 weeks so I'll see what they fit me in to.  I've also always hated odyssey putters but find the tech of the AI One actually intriguing.  I know 90% of "new tech" in golf is gimmicky but getting consistent distance on off center hits would be a meaningful improvement for me on long putts (where I'm most prone to off center and thus struggle with long lag putts).

Looks great! Did those lines help you see when the face was square to the target line? What did you use to put the lines on?

I had a Mezz and it was amazing on the inside ten feet putts.  According to Arccos I was gaining strokes, my LAG putting was similar to normal, with just a slight uptick to the standard, but shorter putts were better, so lags were a wash.  Where I struggled was in the 10-20 range.  My birdies per round went down by almost a full stroke but my putting was level with what it was before so my handicap didn't move at all.

I struggled with alignment on the longer putts, and I also had issues with the feel in this length, I think my right hand was still getting too involved, causing the different feels as discussed above.  I tried no thumbs but could never get it right.  I am back in a face balanced putter currently, my "fix" has been to go the claw or pencil with the right hand and shorties seem better now.  Only one round in, so I am not willing to say anything is fixed.

I think the new DF may be the ticket or maybe going Mezz with the lines like the picture above might help too, but right now I don't want to change anything.
