What is your handicap index?

I honestly believe golfwrx has a collection of the best golfers on the internet and definitely the most knowledgeable (about the swing, equipment, etc.). Special shout out to @Valtiel! 

Stark contrast compared to places like reddit golf where it's more so for 30 handicap players reusing the same jokes. 

That being said, what handicap index do you play to?

For what it's worth, I'm close to scratch but a lot of you are definitely more knowledgeable than me with golf pedagogy and equipment.

I don’t carry an official handicap because I don’t have much of a need for it, but I do keep on through 18 Birdies to see if I’m improving or not. Right now I’m at a 13.7. My goal is to be under an 8 by the end of 2024. I know that’s a lot for 1 year, but I am starting to figure out how to play the game instead of just going out and hitting it as hard as I can. I was trending down at the end of the of 2023, I went down 1.3 strokes during my last 2 rounds of the year.

Well whatever the case. To answer your jab seriously. Yes, a lot of the guys that are obsessed with workin out are known to have issues with low self esteem. I don’t think it’s the main reason I do, but I’m definitely not immune from the insecurities so many of us have. My initial post was more a comment on your healthy self esteem and was meant sarcastically. But nice it offered you a terrific opportunity to put me down! I can handle it and hope it made you feel good 😊
