I was looking at the Alcatraz and played with a little photo editing. I think this would be a really cool wide blade / mid mallet putter with the rear section removed.

Right? Feel like it's a cool departure from the standard anser 2 style wide blade that everyone does.

I would not hesitate to purchase. 

 

Make it a single dot, or no dot alignment, and I would buy two!

I'm thinking $500 for first run and $450 for general release. They really can't price themselves out of the Scotty / Ping PLD range or they will struggle. 

Does anyone know the Toulon business model now? Will these be carried in big box stores or direct to consumer / back to the boutique brand?

The not milled in the USA part doesn't bother me but I was on the fence about purchasing at $500 and definitely out at $600. Will wait for these to hit the classifieds.

I hear you.  If $449 I'm leaning towards buying as the LVch milled is a model I really want but if $600 I'm out unfortunately.  They will depreciate quite a bit too IMO.

I think it's a site glitch. You can buy the heavy weight in all models but not the standard in any. Maybe you can't get them until noon.

I love everything about these but the price.  Any idea when the standard priced putters will come out?  First run a little too rich for me.

I really like the Austin but not at $600.  400 or 450 and I would have purchased one.  Toulon putters lose value very quickly so likely to find them second hand at much better prices.  I hope the standard Austin has the same finish and site dot, but we will see.

It’s a shame they hit the head on design so well and missed the mark to be competitive on pricing. Hopefully pick up an austin on BST in the future…

Can't imagine they are going to be any less than $550. Toulon is in a strange spot where they are charging a higher price to give the perception that they are a higher quality putter than those in the $450 range and maybe they are. I think if they can offer a program similar to what Ping is doing with their PLD Plus where you can add custom sight lines / dots and customize paint fill they will have a winner at the $500 price point.

 

No doubt it's a quality putter but only the true gear nerds have heard of and truly appreciate Toulon.

You're probably right.  I may be sticking with my OG 7ch for a while unfortunately.

I understand the first run pricing, but would expect the regular release to be in line with Scotty, PLD, Betti, and Ai-One Milled. I don’t think they will compete or convert anyone from another manufacturer if they push past that 449 price everyone currently has. Agree with the post or two above that perhaps some customization might be a worthy value add above 449. 

 

Wish I knew what the standard finish would be, the chocolate is very attractive but as PVD, I assume it will wear on the sole over time. If it is dark grey or black, that’s a past gen Toulon, maybe it is a silver satin which could prompt me to make the switch from my old LV.

Pricing is competitive for a First Run and that'll retain a little more value. I'm guessing retail will be $450 and be right in line with Scotty. My guess is one will pop up on BST for $500 and it'll go quick.
