This could be an incredibly interesting weekend. At least ten people still have a great chance. 

 

Especially because of the wild undulations on the fairways and greens. Landing two or three feet in one direction or the other can mean the difference between a birdie and a double bogey. Lot of two or even three shot swings at the top of the leaderboard possible on almost every hole. 

 

Fascinating to watch. Don't see anyone running away - another tourney that could easily come down to the final two holes on Sunday.

Lydia is swinging better, hitting it more solid I feel than she did even in 2022.

Been many years since I have seen her able to be that free and aggressive through impact.

 

Would be funny if she gained HOF entry and all the GC announcers were not there.

Nice to see Sandra Gal in the field. One of the players I used to watch and like. Lyme Disease really dealt her an awful blow. So unlucky.

... and that she has arguably inherited the "Best Player to Not have Won an LPGA Tour event" title (previously held by Megan Khang?)

The way this course changes from morning to afternoon with the prevailing winds, I feel that anyone -3 or better is still in it to start play on Saturday.  Lots of unproven talent in that group, so we will see how their mental game holds together.  

 

This is a great course, made better by the recent changes and I agree with the references to AGNC.

After going bogey free the first round, she followed it up with four bogeys and 14 GIRs.

 

Great start by Lydia and Hye Jin, but both ran out of gas.

I'm not sure if this course is playing the same (winds, as in direction) as before when it was held late in the year?  That period should have been on/around the back of the Typhoon season making some days even worse (I think some rounds the flags were barely standing if I recall correctly).

 

There still may be a lot of variation throughout the day though.

That's a good point that didn't cross my mind.  Yes, there were days when the flags barely stayed in the cup.

There are various courses in the region where some of the holes (often running directly at or away from the ocean) are near unplayable depending on the time of the year.  But with the "other" winds, the same hole is a driver and a wedge...

 

Obviously, there are holes going in opposite directions, so it averages out (plus many others are crosswinds).  Still, it is kind of funny to see how different things play and what holes are "hard."

I've watched an hour of LPGA each evening of the Asian Swing and I must say I really enjoy the broadcast(s).  They show GOLF SHOTS and don't linger too often on excruciating minutes of lining up putts.  The commentary is fairly succinct and lacks the pontificating that seems essential in PGA and network golf coverage here in the States.  I might be a party of one, but I find it refreshing.

Asian swing = TV broadcast is produced by IMG (if i remember correctly)

I like it, every reason you mentioned. Only issue I have is NBC/GC have to double the amount of commercials for American telecast. We miss many crucial shots due to these ads, and the broadcast/commentators really have no idea so we can't be updated.

Many times 1 player will putt, then we get commercials and don't see the players again until hitting their 2nd shot on the next hole. 

NBC really needs to find a way to fix this.

@bobfoster pretty sure it's same timings for most broadcasters.  Even Sky Sports Golf UK doesn't appear to have a youtube livestream this week covering the LPGA (for UK viewers/VPN)
