My post said "could have", and it could have been the result of playing from a wrong place with a serious breach if a wrong drop area was identified and used.

It was only suggested to prove a point that the final score is irrelevant when evaluating the decision reached.

Me and my friends have a couple of private owned satellites drifting around up there in the low-earth orbit, and based on the pictures they sent us it was pretty clear that Rory had teed off with a ball breaching the one ball rule. So this discussion about Penalty Area is a moot and Rory should have added 2PS in his score afterwards.

End of story.

Yet I find him infinitely more likeable than Rory. I still think the 2016 Masters screwed Spieth up big time. I know he won a British Open after that, but he hasn't been the same since.

And he won in 2016 after that and three times in 2017. You’d be better blaming him getting married in 2018.❤️

LOL and . . . he won in 2022 and 2021, and a win in 2016 was just three weeks or so after The Masters.

He's become more inconsistent, but saying he was permanently scarred @Anser3 and putting some kind of figurative asterisk by the Open Championship was a bit of a stretch for sure. Seems more like he was in his own head with swing thoughts/searching in a way for awhile when maybe he needed to be, maybe he didn't - no room in his head for me. Maybe he just wasn't meant to burn brightly his entire career.
