Going for my first putter fitting at Club Champion tomorrow. Trying to temper my excitement so I'm not disappointed 😂

First time putter fitting. Going in expecting to want a LAB Mezz Counterbalance at 38-40". Of course that probably means I'll leave with a 32" Newport. Jokes aside, I am excited. Every putter I've ever owned (which is way too many), I've self fit or just grabbed off a rack. I feel like I'm straight back straight through, but I'm interested to see if that's really true. Also, I'm the worst putter in the world. Should be fun!!!!

Just remember to get the best possible fitting say these magical words "cost is no object" and watch what you end up with.

But seriously don't over think it just roll putts, ask a ton of questions, be open to testing anything and everything and you're not committed to buy on the spot.

I'm honestly more interested in trying everything I can in an hour, than buying anything. I want to see the computer thingy tell me how awful my stroke is, and spit out specs to make it 5% less awful😂 Then I'll shop around and make another 5 terrible purchases. But honestly, if they show me something that even remotely improves my situation, I'll buy. I mean, who am I kidding here??? I'm a sucker when it comes to impulse buying golf clubs🙄

If you have the wherewithal to walk out after they suggest something that is definitely better, you will be able to save hundreds buying it somewhere else online rather than directly from CC

Make sure to bring your current putter to compare and definitely hold off on buying anything on the spot. The information might help you figure out what your issues are, more often than not it's not the putter but the puttee. Maybe it's changed since it's been a few years since I did a putting fitting a CC but their putter choices were limited compared to their iron/driver fitting options, I doubt my putting fitting lasted more than 30 minutes. IMO the money would be better spent on a putting lesson from a quality teacher who specializes in putting.

Honestly, I'm mostly doing it for the experience. I've read about CC fittings for years on here and other sites, and decided I'll make the drive to see it for myself.

I highly doubt I'll buy anything from them. I want the experience of being able to try things I wouldn't be able to in my favorite local shop, like Edel, Evnroll, LAB, etc... I'm hoping to get specs of my stroke, lie, loft, weight, length, that kind of stuff. Then I'll do what every self respecting Wrxer does, I'll cruise the BST for what I want😂

Those sorts of teachers may be abundant in AZ, but in the hills of MA, they are not. Wish they were.

As someone who's had a putter fitting from CC, don't expect to start sinking every putt. I also thought I was straight back and straight through, but I found out I have a slight arc. I did end up getting the putter through them as it was a stock option that worked best for me.

I will say that my putting has improved, averaging 1.8 putts my last 2 rounds on greens I've never played before, but that is a combination of the putter and a putting matt that has made me aware of some tendencies.

The other issue I had with CC putter fitting is that everyone is putting from the same spot on the matt so the sensors can pick up the club/ball info. An obvious groove gets worn into the matt to the hole that's about 10 feet away. Don't get surprised when you start making everything, I went 8/8 with my putter to start the fitting and it wasn't because I'm a great putter.

Overall it was an interesting process. I'm glad I did it. I tried lots of different putters. Definitely learned some stuff. I thought I was straight back, straight through but boy was I wrong.😂 I ended up choosing a Mezz. 37-37.5" 70 lie. I like the 1.5 Press Smooth Round grip. It could be Mezz or Max, but I did prefer the Max a little, but wouldn't be a deal breaker if it ends up being Mezz. I don't wanna wait 8 weeks, so I didn't order one. Felt bad for the fitter since I didn't buy anything, so I gave him a good tip for his time. So now, the hunt begins for a Mezz in those specs!!!!

Did they have multiple different lies for you to test? I'm interested in getting fit for a LAB other than their virtual but since you cant bend the lies idk if they have the lie I need.

I fit into a 70 which is stock, so we didn't get into the other options. But I did see what looked like an adjustable fitting club that would measure lie if you wanted something flatter or more upright.

Glad you had a good experience and always fun when people who think they SBST actually see their stroke, there's always an arc.

Now time to find a putter in your specs.

Totally! Nowhere near SBST😂

I found a counterbalance on LAB Outlet with the right specs. I've always liked counterbalance, but it's obviously not the Press grip I liked. I think I'll hold out and keep looking, even though I'm often guilty of impulse buys. Lol

Shows how little we know about our own game but seems like once you get a LAB in your hands, get some practice in you'll be dropping that handicap fast.

I did a putter fitting at CC 3 or 4 years ago and bought a putter from them.  It was a great experience and worth the cost overall.  And btw, I'm still using the putter and I've tried several others but keep on going back to the one I was fit for.  And I did learn quite a bit about my putting stroke and what type of putter is best suited for me.
