Skin peeling from humidity inside shoes. Foot powder?

My golf shoes don't breathe at all.  I'm not getting blisters but I'm getting skin rubbing off under the right big toe, which is a pressure point during the swing.  I'm sure it's like what happens to your skin in a long bath.  Will foot powder help this at all?  Recommendations welcome.  Other than the obvious of getting breathable shoes.  I get that.  🙂

You need to discover Moleskin.  Comes in various thicknesses.   

 

Or something I use for blister control on my heels is Body Glide.  Runners use it for chaffing and blister control.  This has been a game changer for me.  Doesn't rub off until you use soap and water.

I switched to Trues several years ago and have found that they breath well.  Right socks will help too.

Nothing you put on your feet will fix that problem, except more breathable shoes.

Get better socks, I don't know what else to offer, if your shoes don't breathe and basically slow cook your foot it's the shoes that need to go.

Breathable shoes will help.  For a cheaper alternative, try socks with wool.  I know what you’re thinking, wool??? Too hot!!!! The socks you’re probably wearing now are some kind poly blend, so they’re comfy but after you golf and peel your socks off, your feet are clammy and somewhat slimy.  Wool/blend socks will help that IMMENSELY. When you peel your wool/blend socks off after golf, your feet will be dry, and not clammy, and your skin won’t be peeling.   Bombas, SmartWool, are 2 companies that come to mind.  Try it. You’ll like it.

Friction is the problem, not moisture. I mean, your arm-pits aren't peeling are they? What about your scalp under your hat?

You need to cushion the soles or buy shoes with better/softer soles. Or do both. 😄

Its all about the socks....humid as hell where I live and never had issues.....try using running socks like swiftwick or feetures...also make sure you're wearing the correct size shoe....

I will second (or 3rd or 4th?) the good socks recommendation. I either wear Feetures Elite Golf Max Cushion Low Cut or the Darn Tough Element Quarter Lightweight Running Sock.  The Feetures has a little spandex in it and is a tighter-fitting sock that has a little more cushion.  The Darn Tough sock is a wool blend sock, and while a little thinner, it does breathe well and gives plenty of cushion.  I walk almost exclusively and live in the DFW, TX area, so it's nearly as hot as #@)& here in the summer, and I haven't had any blister or athlete's foot issues since moving to these 2 sock options.  With all socks for golf, I try to buy one size smaller than your normal size if possible, as you want the sock to be tight and not move around at all.  My shoes are Sqairz in a size 13, and they have plenty of room in the toe box w/ a tight-fitting heel area, which is perfect for my stupidly-shaped feet.

Swiftwick has great wool socks that keep my feet dry. 

This is really important since the fairway of the first hole was often wet last season, sometimes to the point of there being an abnormal course condition that allows a  free drop.
