Looking for a quiet driver!! Please help!

Ok this sounds a bit weird but much as I love my Hibore XL driver in terms of performance- easy, straight and long- I can't stand the loud, metallic noise it makes.

 

Does anyone know of a driver as easy and beautiful (but that's just my opinion) that makes less noise-or at least a nicer one!

The FT-3 is definitely not loud and metallic but I would try before you buy. I think it feels and sounds strange, sort of like the whole clubhead is made out of composite material.

If you love your Hibore XL, then try the Hibore XLS, same performance, but a much much better sound, it sound nice IMO.

The Bobby Jones Player Series has the best sound and feel of any driver I have tried. Quiet, muted, and solid. Distance is great and it's very forgiving as well.

Actually, one of my regular playing partners plays an FT-3 and it's the longest driver he's ever hit. I know they are great clubs. But the sound is just a different tone that I find unusual. I would definitely prefer the FT-3 to trash can lid loud, but it's just not my favorite. As for the feel, when people say some drivers feel like the ball explodes off the face, for me the FT-3 feels the opposite like the ball didn't go very far. Fortunuately, the results suggest otherwise.

I re-read this thread .... and I am changing my mind on 33R .. Rapture 24/7 !!!!!!!!!!!!! ... It just sliped my mind ... With that right shaft Rapture is LETHAL and very muted

TEE XCG. Very muted, even with range rocks. At least that how it sounds after hitting it side by side with my Cobra's. Hmmm, it's either very muted or the Cobra's have damaged my hearing.

I think the Adams BUL insight driver has a good sound to it. They're pretty cheap now too.

I also really like the sound from the TaylorMade r500 series

My vote would go for any Titleist 900 Series driver, except the 907. Not that the 907 is loud, but does have a higher pitched sound that previous models. I personally would vote for the 905R, it is one SOLID sounding and feeling stick! However, it is not the most forgiving 460cc driver out there, but if you have a good consistent swing it's money.

Sorry, definitely not the G10. It is a great driver, but not a muted solid feel.

 

I've been in the search for a long time, and my current driver has met the need. It's 4 years old, "only" 414 cc, but it has a nice solid feel to it, very workable, reasonably forgiving, reasonably long.

 

I've had the FT-3, which would be my second choice, but it was not forgiving. Rapture - ok, certainly reasonably solid.

I still love the original Mizuno MP-001 460. That thing is one of the hottest faces I have ever hit. Great tradition look and nice crisp sound. Only problem is finding a new one. The 600 may very well be similar I know the look is I just haven't had a chance to hit one yet. The 001 probably has a softer feel being a comp but like I said I couldn't comment on the difference of the two.

No question, they're in the top 5 greatest drivers ever created. Both don't make much noise (though the FT-3 has a very unique feel to it)

J33 gets another vote. As a former Ft-i user, I couldn't stand the sound at the range and I'm hitting the J33R alot better than the Ft-i.
