I think they only made a few of these. At least that was true a month ago or so. Too niche of a club was the conversation at the time.

I have the Apex UW 21 degree but wasnt a fan of the Apex UW 17 degree. 

 

I would be all over one of these if released.

I'm fully not getting a fairway wood at the moment. I don't have much call for a 3-wood, but this would get used all the time. Was going to order the 3HL short, but this has my full attention.

Now that I have driver and mini I am not carrying a 3w anymore. This club looks like a perfect fit for me in the gap between mini and apex uw 21

I’m going TD Max 9.0 and mini 13.5, if this came in 18-20 degree range I’d be all over it !

The prior bonded UWs were 17, 19, and 21. This one is 16.5, so I'm completely guessing here but I'm guessing it'll be similar but maybe wider. 16.5, 19, 21.5 would be a total guess.

TM, the U series has been anything but niche… is there something I'm not getting on this one?

Looks like I was thinking about the DUW, which looks like the prototype to this model without an adjustable hosel.

over saturated how? No one is forcing anyone to buy everything that is offered but yet the club ho in us feels we have to try everything or FOMO happens. Options are good. Less options means more exclusion

I think it's a nod to Callaway. 

 

They've got a great product, not just a product, for almost everybody. 

 

Look at all the options. 

 

I think if you asked Callaway, transparently speaking they themselves would tell you, you don't need to buy every single piece we bring to retail. AI and Smart technology has enabled them to dial into those 'niche' markets as well.

I only mean in the way of overlapping a product, Apex UW is extremely successful, why not just add loft options! But I guess callaway has had it going for years regarding tour stuff eventually coming to retail or boutique/eBay sellers getting their hands on a tour club. Did not mean it in a bad way, just meant it confuses some including me as to what I should want to try

That’s understandable and I think that’s why we’ve seen a big switch in marketing push for “getting fit” for their stuff because of the over lap you mentioned and players that tend to stick to only certain possibly having more options to use in the bag. As for UW I agree, the UW 23* is awesome and gaps perfectly in my bag but it’s not readily available in the states so not much clamoring for it versus hybrid options in same lofts

Very true about the fitting, that said a 23 degree UW would be awesome 😂.

This one perplexes me.  Callaway advertises the current UW as having a very consistent face with no hot spots, so what are they looking to improve on with the AI version outside of adding an adjustable weight?  
 

I also haven't seen many people looking to lower spin/flight off the UW, it already seems pretty "tour" like in that regard

Adjustable loft/lie.

 

Also the sole looks different.  I like the idea of the UW but dislike the ways the club sits when you sole it.

Exactly this. They have such a good adapter that actually functions well, that I won't buy anything bonded. Just doesn't make sense, and all the UWs to this point have been bonded.

 

And I'll start another thread, but if everyone in here thinks they have too many options, Triple Diamond T is now making the rounds. TD with weight rail.
