New WRXer from Minnesota here. Play Baker National most often but venture to other courses on occasion with friends. Let's hope we get an early spring.

Went to the Goodrich golf dome yesterday. $9 for a decent sized bucket. Practice green area is okay - it was very warm in there. All in all I thought the price for the bucket was okay.



A heads up though: Don't got there on the weekend. They charge by the half hour - so you are going to pay for whatever you do in a half hour (or more) of time. So it's a total rip off on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday, that is).

Just watching Farmers Open on Golf Channel and saw ad for membership at Edinburgh for as little as $28 per round for upcoming season.?
Checked out website but must send in personal info and request for inquiry to learn more. Which I did.
Not my fav course ( cause I never score it well) but its fairly close to me. Was thinking Northfork .

Just moved to New Brighton, so Edinburgh is pretty close now.

I didn't even go the golf show, but the cravings have fully set in.
Thinking Orlando, Phoenix, Vegas for a quick 3 or 4 day run and 5-7 rounds to scratch the itch.
Unfortunately, darn customers are getting in the way. At least this week for sure, but maybe Saturday to Tuesday.
I have this process where I check flight costs,somewhere close to $300, nonstop. Then times, early morning depart, early evening return. Then weather predictions. Then top 100 courses that I haven't yet played. Last I find some dive to flop into nightly. Usually get the weekend done for under $1000.
Use to do this often before I re-married. Not so much since. Wifey did say go if I want. I think she even meant it.early

Think big hub if you want to save money flying. I got Dallas last week of January at $78. Atlanta and Charlotte can be interesting. I set a search engine called airfarewatchdog.com

Hey , thanks for the tip.
I had used it a few years ago to get to palm springs, ca, but had forgotten about that one.
Just took a quick look and like the layout and that I can ask to find low fares to anywhere and it pops up.
Most sites like Travelocity require a specific location and date.

Getting a a bit antsy for this winter to be over along with a lot of other golfers in the great white north. Had a buddy ask about a good packable rain suit today. Funny what Temps in the 20s and sunshine will do.

A couple years ago, I starting thinking out loud in early March about how close we were to starting to play golf. My first round that year was April 30, thanks to the lovely snowstorms that sprang forth.

Last year was no picnic, either.
