Thanks B. Good day out there. Tough wind. The downwind holes were fun at least. Not often I go over #9 with driver>8 iron.
I'm not quite ready to hang them up for the year, but its getting close. We'll see what this week brings.

Nah! 11/11 is right around that time I usually get one of my last rounds in. We got hosed with the rain this spring. We have it coming to us! (Knock on wood.)

What a hellacious round today. Hands colder than they've been in probably years on a golf course. It was a toss up between today and last Friday for coldest round I've played in quite a while. Honestly wasn't even close to fun.

We tried going after work yesterday in Rochester. Course was closed, so we just walked 9... Wasn't too bad. And we gave ourselves the two putt green rule due to all the leaves and twigs.

Gonna try do 18 both days this weekend... Maybe even drive to Waterloo Sunday

There's no chance for me to play Sunday, so I played 18 at Stillwater Oaks, then stopped on the way home and played 18 at Phalen too. I saw about 10 other souls combined today. Awesome day. Hit some of the longest drives of my life today (thank you wind!). Four full layers did the job pretty well.

No indoor ranges up here. The only way to get a fix is head south or go to Nevada Bobs in Duluth they rent out there simulator. It's great if you want to hit 300+yard 6 irons.

I'd have to rig something up in the garage (mat and net) then with a nice propane heater or something. It's amazing how much (at least what seems) shorter the golf year is just getting even an hour north of the Cities let alone all the way up.

Be careful with the garage net thing. Friend of mine did that one offseason, developed a crazy hook, instead of the fade he usually played.

I like the heated range option, assuming there's one reasonably close, of course.

I make a lot of trips to Chaska over the winter. With the excuse that I'm bringing my mom, who doesn't like to drive in the winter, to my nephews hockey games. She watches hockey I find a sim, or hit the academy, or the rain or shine heated range. Helps a little bit.

I saw that when I was up there earlier this year. Looks like they might even have some sort of simulator league too?

I'm very close to Goodrich dome (a couple miles) so if/when I get the itch I can get over there with the U of M players who some times hit there and get some time in.

Usually by about February I break down and have to play a round of simulator golf or go to a heated range. But that's just not the same.
Time to get my equipment in order for next season! I see graphite, lots of graphite, in my future. ha!

I have a buddy that set up a net in his garage. Somehow he managed to bounce one off the ceiling over the net right into his florescent shop light. Lol he was still finding glass this summer. Oh by the way he was hitting driver. Ooops

Not that we'll be playing it anytime soon, but....was reading a MN Golfing (Golfer?) mag and it highligted some changes that were made to [b]Grand National in Hinckley.[/b] Anyone played it since they re-did some things? I've never played it. Never heard anything particularly glowing about the place. Wondering if the update by Kevin Norby helped it out? Couple new holes (13 and 14 I want to say the article mentioned) and new bunkers.
