Which club company would you choose, if you were on tour

Titleist! Best irons, wedges and putters in the business. Fairway woods are outstanding! Drivers are good.

MacGregor. they came out with some awesome equipment this year and the freedom to play whatever ball i want would be sweet.

You and I are on the same page here. I am pulling the trigger tomorrow on a full bag, except for possibly the putter. Not sure what I am going with there just yet.

But, 13 Mac clubs will be in my bag for sure.

 

Gotta give the new putter line a try. The insert works!

 

Completely agree although we are probably the only ones saying it.

 

Add another. Keep in mind too that the current line up is the only the first shot for the new regime. If you think these are good, you know next year's additions will be phenomenal.

 

I should have a nearly full Mac bag soon. Have a MT 10.5* Driver trying out the Aldila DVS and the UST V2. MT Irons as well. DW Wedges and Sarasota Putter are next.

Ideally I would play Titleist from top to bottom, Woods, to Shoes (FJ) to gloves, the works, I think Titleist is the best if your looking for EVERYTHING!

 

I would play Nike though also, I think they have a really good offering, I'm not crazy about their putters. But their clothing, gloves, shoes, etc....are wonderful.

 

Ping is another company I would play if we were talking clubs...I think they have a phenomenal offering as far as thats concerned.

1. Mizuno - strong all the way through the bag (but no.1 mainly for their incomparable irons) including the Bettinardi putters, although I'm still not sold on the MP-600 driver (the sliding weights are just a gimmick and don't really effect flight or shape in any serious way - seem best in the neutral position).

 

2. Titleist - again strong range right the way down, but I'd have to stick to the 905R instead of the D2. haven't hit an AP2 or ZM / ZB yet but, the 695MBs and 660s are great irons.

 

3. Ping - good range and the S58 irons look real good at address and feel fine as well. The latest 'black' Redwoods look and feel really nice. I still use a G5 driver on occasion and it's still up there with the best.

The answer is obviously based on each individual - not one golfer is created the same as others.

 

Based on my personal data (what clubs I can hit):

 

1. TaylorMade - I can hit all TM clubs, with the only thing I did not like which was the Putter - but the new Spider is not too bad for me personally.

 

So if I use all TM, it will be just like my current Bag, plus Spider putter.

 

2. Ping - I can hit all Ping clubs. The only minor thing is the Wedges and Putter - they don't really suit me, but good products.

 

My clubs would have been: (and some of these had been my gamer in the past)

Rapture or G10 driver

G10 or G5 - 3 wood and 5 wood

G5 hybrid (awesome hybrid, the best of all!)

i10 Irons

Tour Wedges

G5 Ug-Le putter

 

3. Titleist - I can hit all Titleist clubs, and especially like their Wedges and Putter (so this is a reverse from option 2 Ping for me). Their Irons and Woods are OK - and some models are actually very good! (I used to play almost full Titleist bag). The only thing I don't like and could not hit well is their 585 Hybrid.

 

My clubs would have been: (and some of these had been my gamer in the past)

905R driver

906F4 - 3 wood

904F - 5 wood (no hybrid, or use 503.H iron like hybrid to replace 3 iron/7 wood)

755 irons (or back to my old combo 704/804)

Vokey wedges (Spin Milled Oil Can)

Scotty Sonoma putter

Well... if I was on tour and was told to play ONE brand (this isn't including stock options, right?):

 

My first option would be PING, since I have that right now. Look at my sig for the current stuff, replace the driver with a G10 10.5 Degree, add a 5 Wood and use a Karsten Zing putter.

 

Second Option: Mizuno (Setup Below)

 

Driver: MX560 10.5 Degrees

3 Wood: F60

Irons: MX-25's 3-PW

Wedges: MP-T 53 Degrees (Black Carbon) and MP-R 58 Degrees (Black Carbon)

Putter: Bettinardi BC-1- 34 inches.

 

Third Option: Taylor Made

 

Driver: TP SuperQuad 10.5 Degrees

3 Wood: Burner TP 15 Degrees

Hybrid: Original Rescue Hybrid

Irons: R7TP 4-PW

Wedges: rac Satin TP (54 and 58 Degrees)

Putter: Rossa Modena Classic

 

Not really a fan of NIKE but I'd use them as well... I dunno what I would equip FROM them... Titleist is just... a little too player-esque for me right now. It's a toss up on the others though.

 

Note: Driver shaft would be Grafalloy EPIC 65, Stiff Flex. Fairway Woods would be GrafalloyProlaunch Blue Stiff Flex, Irons would be Nippon 950's in Stiff Flex

Taylormade all the way. :yes: Tour Burner Driver TP, TP rescues, Forged Musclebacks, Z groove wedges and the Spider putter (have you tried this yet? :yes: ). Add in some TP red LDP balls and I'm good. (All this assuming I was actually good enough to hit all the TP stuff instead of needing all the help I can get out of gi clubs. :lol: I hate that I suck.)
