Which club company would you choose, if you were on tour

I actually posted the same topic a few months ago. A lot of people also stated that pros don't just go with one club company since they can get away with 10 club deals or partial deals of that sort. Obviously many chose one company for the whole set and said they would go with Titleist only for putters.

But my answers have changed since then (I chose Titleist back then) so here are my current 1st tier choices.

I wouldn't mind any of the following companies as they all have pros and cons. (Not in any order of preference)

1. Mizuno - Their grain forged irons, wedges and putters would be their strength. Their fairway woods are not too bad. Driver would be the only problem but MP600 was actually quite solid when I tried the demo.

2. Taylormade - Their woods would be their strength. Will have no problem finding driver and fairway woods from their wide range of selections. Their forged irons are not too bad either. Not a big fan of their wedges and putters but I could live with them...

3. Callaway - I personally think that Callaway is a the most well rounded company. They have good selection in drivers and fairway woods that performs with forgiveness. They are coming up with great player's irons and great forged wedges. Odyssey is of course one of the best in putters. Great balls too...

4. Ping - I would have never picked this company a few years ago. But now I am a Ping convert for woods. Their driver and fairway woods are solid. Far, accurate and explosive. Irons are ok but I would still be happy to use them. Wedges are their weakest link. Great putters, especially the Redwood selection.

Other second tier choices that I would consider are Nike, Cleveland, Adams, and Bridgestone.

Rife - If I could have a 13 club deal, then I would use any of the above plus Rife putter.

I will also list the companies that I will NOT go with to make the topic more interesting:

1. Titleist - Strangely, I was a hard core Titleist fan a few years ago but this has gradually changed over the years. Although they have solid clubs, I find their strength is in their wedges and putters. However, with great offering of these two categories these days from other companies, I personally feel that I could do without Titleist. I moved away from Titleist woods to Ping. Their irons are good but not something that I wouldn't drool about... Titleist just completely lost it's appeal to me personally. Will be swtching my current wedges and putter to other brands soon.

2. Cobra - Not a big fan of their drivers and woods. They do have great irons but would do better with other choices. Wedges and putters are not too great unless they go with Titleist.

3. Wilson - Nothing against them. But personally I don't find their clubs too outstanding in any one category.

4. Srixon - I like their products but again... I don't find their clubs too outstanding in any one category.

Driver - Titleist TS3 9.5* w/ Graphite Design Tour AD IZ-6x

3 wood - Titleist TS2 15* w/ Graphite Design Tour AD DI-7x

5wood - Titleist TS2 18* w/ Graphite Design Tour AD DI-8x

Irons - Srixon ZX7 4, Srixon Z Forged 5- PW w/ Nippon NS Pro Modus 3 Tour 120X

Gap Wedge - Cleveland RTX Zipcore 52* w/ Nippon NS Pro Modus Wedge 115

Sand Wedge - Cleveland RTX Zipcore 58* w/ Nippon NS Pro Modus Wedge 115

Lob Wedge - Cleveland RTX Zipcore Full Face 64* w/ Nippon NS Pro Modus Wedge 115

Putter - Bettinardi DASS Diamond Face BB8 w/ Stability Tour Black

Ball - Srixon Z Star

1. Mizuno. I care most about irons and wedges and I think mizuno offers the best irons/wedges (although tm rac tps are my favorite).

MP600, F60, whichever hybrid, mp-32s, mpts, bettinardi putter.. great bag right there

2. Taylormade. Great woods and wedges.

Tour Burner Tp, Burner tp, rescue tp, Rac MB tp, rac z tp, putter is the weak part but when i tried them they weren't too bad. oh and of course some pretty solid balls

I could even use a Kevin Burns TS Newport-esque putter quite happily.

One company? I would start with who makes the best equipment (for me) from the putting green and work back to the tee.

I would choose Mizuno. Bettinardi putters, great wedges, the best irons, and really good woods. Second would be Titleist, third Cally.

ditto!! I would love to try one of the MP600 drivers out this summer..

If Bridgestone would step into the putter market then the decision is easy. I already play Bridgestone driver, woods, irons, wedges, and definitely their golf ball. I think I saw somewhere a Bridgestone prototype putter, so I look forward to the future of that area.

Second place is definitely PING. (they don't have a ball though do they?)

Bridgestone J33 460 - 8.5* Aldila NV85
PING i15 3W & 5W - UST Tour Green 85
Mizuno MP-63 4-PW - DGS300
PING Tour-S 52* & 56* DGS300
Mizuno MP T-11 64* DG Spinner
PING ANSER MILLED

callaway, simply because they have the 2 lines of tour level clubs---> X series, and FT series, if i didn't like one club i could mix and match within the company, not really a fan of their golf balls though

i would be torn between callaway and cleveland, their new cg tours look amazing and i loved the cg 12, 14 wedges with the zip grooves, i guess with all the clubs being equal to me it would come down to apparel, i guess the nod still goes to callaway

Ping or Titleist, but I would probably lean towards Titleist. Titleist is solid all the way through the bag, and you get the PRO V1s, and footjoy shoes and clothing. I give the edge to Titleist because of the wedges and the ball and of course the Scottys, but I could easily go Ping. Guess it just depends on if you want forged irons or not, but you could not go wrong with either one.

I have to agree with the above and also would probably end up with Titleist if I can only have a one OEM deal, even though I could make OK with PING. Having just begun hitting Mizzy irons complicates the decision though. I never knew what I was missing, but I would only use their irons and wedges.

Titleist without a doubt......after all, it's all about chipping and putting and they make the best wedges and putters.

I would rank Callaway second......they have come a long way in the players category. Great stuff out right now.

You and I are on the same page here. I am pulling the trigger tomorrow on a full bag, except for possibly the putter. Not sure what I am going with there just yet.

But, 13 Mac clubs will be in my bag for sure.

I say Titleist too without any question. I just hope someone doesn't jump on us Titleist guys like they did with the Titleist count at the Masters thread, haha!!

As the guy who started that now "infamous" thread, I am a little concerned as well....(NOT!)

Anyway, my choice is obvious. It would be on tour as it is now - 100% Titleist.
