Tai, if you get a chance, try the Matrix hM2 hybrid shaft. It is smoother in feel than the Altus and is heavier, too. I love both of the shafts, but the hM2 feels more stable and allows you to really load the shaft. IMHO, of course...

Thanks for the input Bill.. to be honest, I've never had the chance to hit an hM2, and I don't think I've ever seen one in person either I've heard feedback similar to yours, just hard to get my hands on one! How do you compare the hM2 to the Thump? I do hit the ball much straighter with the Altus.. the Thump always wants to draw on me.. and bad shots, the draw turns into a hook lol! But overall the Thump has been good to me.. we'll see what happens with the Altus.. so far so good.

Interesting.. do they make a black one? I'm going to give the Altus a few more weeks to see how it works out.. I've hit some really sick shots with it. It's got some big shoes to fill though lol. How does the HM2 compare to the Altus in terms of ball flight and spin?

Tai, hM2 is lower flight and should be lower spin, but I've never had a problem getting a ball to drop-n-stop on the green. The shaft is heavier and has the Zylon layer so it feels smoother than the Altus, at least to me. The Altus HB is a great shaft, so if it is working for you there isn't any reason to change... except just to 'Ho and try something different.

Interesting.. just did some research..

Altus Hybrid (REG): 93g, 2.5 tq, mid/high launch, mid spin

Altus Hybrid (Black Tie): 97g, 2.5 tq, mid/low launch, mid spin

HM2 (Black): 106.5g, 2.0 tq, low launch, low spin

Diamana Thump: 103g, 2.2 tq, mid/high launch, spin is not listed but I'm guessing mid spin

Hey Tai, have you ever hit the normal Altus? How would you compare it? And tell me about the HD8 and the 6HD (and if you've compared it to the 6M2). They're both shafts I've been interested in!

The Altus is a good shaft, I've never gamed it exclusively but I've hit it a few times. The TP6HD is probably the best feeling shaft I've hit. The HD8 is quickly becoming my favorite shaft I've had in a 3 wood. It goes really low and has very low spin in my R9. I haven't hit the 6M2 but I've hit the 7M2 LTD, and that was a really nice feeling shaft. Both are good choices, I'd probably lean towards the 6M2 though for sure.

This is the nicest set on GolfWRX I have ever seen and I have seen a few. You should be very proud!

Your driver is freakin' HOT. The color scheme is PERFECT! Black head, white shaft and white grip.

Your fairwaywoods are as nice as your driver.

The irons you have are the coolest I have ever seen, FANTASTIC looking blade with cool paintfill.

The wedges is just sick, don't really have words that can describe how cool they are.

The tour Scotty's you have are looking very good and untouched.

I am amazed.

What's goin on CJ? The grind on the 54 is the "TAI" grind Ari said I can name it.. it's a custom grind, and mix of the SLT and BNE w/ some mods to it. For some reason I can get it to spin more than my 58.

As for the HO.. he's lost it, may never return.. he's a professional shark boarder now

Not much man, trying to build a new bag for the 2011 season. Everything is toally covered in snow here in Denmark and season is probaly over .

The "TAI" grind looks/sounds good and for some reason I have the same thing going on with my 53 DOG grind (the spinning). That is when the head actually stays on the club - you should see my scratch stuff after the pga pro's at my club had them for a reshaft/regrip treatment, you would drop dead. Hosels scratched and marked so hard, scratched the shafts so you can see some copper and the heads have come off 2-3 times on most of the clubs. Luckyli I have found a guy who has been to the US for the Master club builder stuff - looking forward to be working with him during the winter!

Haha yeah, at least he still has the very same sickness even though it is not with golf anymore!
