How do you walk 18?

Whether using a cart or carrying, walking is walking. If the added poundage of carrying works and gives more exercise, great. It's just not the way I do it or recommend to others.

Push carts don't get in the way at all. I think they help focus purely on the next shot and aren't an energy consumer. I'm pretty fit and have played competitive sports up to the college level, but I still wouldn't carry a bag. Seems no different to me than tennis players who carry multiple rackets and a lot of stuff in their bags don't pick up the bags and switch them every time they switch service sides.

I think the whole mindset on carrying's going to change the minute the NCAA allows it like some of the junior tournaments do now.

I carry for three reasons. I stay loose, focus on what I'm doing and enjoy the walk. Unlike Mark Twain, "golf is a good walk spoiled". Ping 'Moon' Bag. Carries all the clubs - easily and more than enough room for balls ,tees, valuables and rain gear. VERY light..

I walk 95% of the time and I used to carry but after carrying my Ping hoofers in HS, and college and after I got a Titleist Ultralight which is a great back but this year went ahead and got a Clicgear 3.0 and have never looked back. It takes all the stress off my back and shoulders and I play with plenty of college guys still and a lot of them roll their bags too. The more technology and medicine develops it is a no brainer to not put the stress on your spine, and you still get the enjoyment of walking the course and staying in the game better then when you are riding.

I use a powakaddy sprort in the summer due to arthritis and Mizuno scratch sac with 7 clubs in the winter as my club bans trolleys,I find come the spring I have learned a lot more about shot making.

I enjoy carrying, never been a big fan of the pull carts. If your going out for a leisure round, the Sunday bag is always a great idea

I use a Sun mountain Speed when my back is not right. I'll carry 90% of the time then there is the really bad day and I'll use my Sun Mountain Dynamis remote caddy. At 50 it doesn't matter anything to get the round in.

I carry on occasion but mostly pull/push with a rental cart. I carried yesterday and can guarantee that fatigue cost me 1 stroke on 18. I have ordered a clic gear 3.0 and will pick it up next weekend.

I carry, as a 22 year old I have no problem walking a round with a bag on my back. Its also more convenient if I need to grab something from my bag pockets while im walking

i used to carry but soon realized that carrying clubs on your back all summer is not good for my back. I then purchased a trolly so now walking is a breeze and much more enjoyable. I use the Sun Mountain micro trolly.

I voted 'carry' but believe this will change next season. With my 3rd heart surgery (yikes, I am in my 40's), my cardio doctor advised to either ride or use a cart for a while. So I purchased a Tour Trek cart and a cart bag.

Wow, my scores dramatically came down, but more importantly, my back was not sore and had enough energy to walk another 18.

So if you had asked this question let us say next May ---- definitely 'using a cart' would have been my vote.

I still refuse to ride carts ------ love playing with the 'walk in park' pace....plus the mind and body exercise one gets from walking.

I carry when I play 18 but I mean I am in college and play college golf so im always walking 18. It gets easier the more you do it. Just like anything else

I've used pull carts and carried over the years equally, but the push carts keep your shirt much cleaner and it is easier on your back, especially on flatter courses. The 3 and 4 wheel push carts they have nowadays are great, and make it much easier to carry an extra drink around.

I started with a pull cart when I was 30. I switched to a push cart 4 years ago. I'm now 43. I hate the noise of irons clashing on my back.

I carry by bag every time I play. In 4 years of golfing, I've yet to play a round using a cart or a buggy.

Push cart all the time. Actually had to use a cart last week, as my playing partner for that round had a bum foot, and hated it. The push cart is ideal for me. It's easier to roll around than a pull cart, and allows me to bring more stuff (especially clothing, as weather changes pretty quick up here in the Fall), and snacks and water without leaving me exhausted at the end of the round.

I prefer to walk, but it depends who I'm playing with. When I walk I prefer to use a push cart - currently a Caddy-Tech 13.5.

Push, (Sun Mountain V2), allows me to get some exercise and walk straight to my ball - half our course is cart path only. When I carry (a rarity) it's no more than 10 or 11 clubs, minimal amount of junk in the bag. the push cart allows me to carry 14 clubs, wet weather gear and other misc junk with little extra effort.

i've got a cheapo TA push cart that I walk with. A few years ago, I started carrying during the summer, but after about 3 rounds of 100+ degree heat, even with constant watering, I gave up on that. Now I either ride (if I'm in a random pairing for my tee times with someone who'd rather ride) or walk (preferably).

I bought a used two wheel pull cart. Easy on the back and legs. I always walk but I dont like being worn out from lifting/carrying my bag.

Today I played with a guy who insisted on driving a cart and drove like an idiot, I hated it. I just want to relax and enjoy myself, not bounce around in a cart and try to calm down about how he shaves strokes...

When I'm home, I carry an older Sun Mountain SL3.5. On the road I use a Cargo Golf 700 travel bag with the dual strap and stand attachment. The Cargo Golf bag is a bit heavier, but has worked very well over the years.
