It's pretty usable off the deck. For me launch off the deck isn't an issue, accuracy and solid contact are. It's way easier off the tee, and I don't plan on hitting it off the deck very much, if at all.

Good description. It's basically one of those things were "if you have to ask." It's not going to be easier to hit off the ground than any other 3 wood but it's definitely usable for those who don't normally have trouble with that shot. One thing I find is that it is very forgiving low on the face, I think it's due to a combination of the face being so big and other design features. I find that when hitting it off the ground like PM said it's mostly about hitting it square and then worrying about the accuracy. I don't find that I have to change my swing or attack to get a good flight.

I really like the way the i20/G25/Anser drivers set up and wanted to see what the hype was about. I kept the Callaway sleeve on my Accra though, so at some point I will pick up an XHP or RFE head to try.

I have X100s in the Protos, S400s in both Callaway wedges and Vokey Wedges. I bought them with TT Black Golds that I should have kept, then went to KBS Tours in S, hardstepped, which I somewhat enjoyed because they felt great, but never could get 100% comfortable with even after playing them for 2 years. I've used DG for 20+ years and they just work with my swing. I like the heavy feel of the lower end of the club through the impact zone, which is what I feel with the DGs. KBS felt like they had a more balanced feel from the hands all the way down, which sometimes made the lower end of the club feel too light, if that makes sense. I actually also bought a set of PX 6.5 in the old satin finish to try, but ended up trading those away to TBomb for the X1s before even installing them. Anyway, these heads are so soft any shaft will work. I love the X1s in the Protos and despite all the sweet newer irons out there (the J40 CBs have been the most tempting), I don't intend to switch for a while.

Reshafted G25, 3Deep, and DHy to be picked up on Friday...
[/quote]

Thanks for the info. I've been leaning towards X100 or there's a nice deal on X200's which might work since I like a heavier SW. Sounds like not much of a difference in flight through all that which is also what I've generally found with iron shafts as long as the flex is right. I think that has more to do individual swings though as there have been some really good trackman comparisons between X100, PX 6.5 and CtaperX by Swanry30. Seems like some on here are able to spin the heck out of X100's and they come up short but that doesn't seem to be the case for me so far being a long time PX 6.5 guy.

The J40's do look very good coming from a blade, they seem to have the least offset of the player's CB's and a nice address profile. Also like the fact that most of the mass is right behind the impact area.

I tried a bunch of different irons shafts, C-Tapers, PX, KBS Tours, DG in varying flexes and they were pretty much within one standard deviation of each other numbers wise. I went with what felt the best and what I hit the most solid shots with. I'm one of those guys who just has totally average tempo I guess.

I was fit into the DI-7X a while back but went with the 6X to try to get more speed. Tipped the 6X about half an inch and it's awesome in the G25, but I'm still getting used to the size of the head. The DI isn't exactly the lowest spinning, bomb dropping combo for me, but the consistency and feel still with solid ball speed is what sold me. Played with the DI in a FW and hybrid for the first time today and was blown away, especially the Adams DHy.

The DI in the DHy is great; very long, very stable for a hybrid. It actually plays similar to the HX3 but is just heavier. The HX3 is around 85 grams and the DI is 105 grams, so I think the weight is what makes a difference more so than the profile. I typically am a pretty smooth swinger and when I get quick, as I do with lighter shafts, it's bad news. I had a bad day yesterday and the driver and 3W with lighter shafts were a struggle; the DHy was the least off line on the bad swings also because it's a shorter club.

Got my AD DI 7X today.....happy to say that i don't think it needs tipping.....seems just right. One range session but it was quite promising. Need to cut it down some as it cam in at 45 3/4" from Ping....maybe nick off a half inch.

Nice. Do you like the X Hot Pro head better than the RFE for a driver?

Ended up with black gold X soft stepped one time in my X protos and it's really changed my iron game with this combination of heads and shafts.

Purely based on cosmetics and feel. The XHP just set up nicer in terms of how it sits and I preferred the crisp crack of it over the RFE. I love the RHT still and the Fit and RFE just never did it for me.

My X-Protos originally came with Black Golds in X, which I thought were too stiff for me, so I had those reshafted (with KBS Tours and then now DGs). They sure felt good though!

Videos of me at the range trying to solve my driver "yips". Trying two different drivers to see if it's me, and yes, it is me. This is only the good shots, or rather the not as bad shots. The first drive was nailed though, and then it's all downhill from there. Hitting my irons and shorter clubs well too (2nd video).

Thanks for all the kind words. Wish I could turn it into lower scores, but I don't get to play enough these days.

In other news, the X-Hot Pro lasted two range sessions, less than 10 balls, and was sold yesterday. The G25 is still better for me, as is my old RHT. Shafting up something else for the G25 to see if I can improve on the DI. If not, it might be time to buy another RHT head, lol.

I honestly did not think I'd make any further major changes to my bag, but this is GolfWRX afterall... this is an experiment of sorts, but I like how it has started after one bucket of range balls.

Compared to my X-Protos, the J40 DPC are longer heel to toe and taller, maybe a hair more offset, but the toplines are so thin for a DPC/CB. They do not feel firmer than the X-Protos, just different, maybe because of the pockets, but are still a soft forging. The sole grinds look awesome too but the big upgrade is in how forgiving they are for a forged club. I can't wait to get them out on the course soon.

i went from s300s to projectX 5.5s to kbs tours. kbs has been an amazing shaft, and the best of the lot for me. with that said, i hit my buddy's xforged with pxi's in them at the range the other day... mmmmm... a very nice combo. was really digging the pxi's. all the harshness i've associated with projectX irons shafts was gone.

I used KBS Tours for 2 years but went back to DG because it was a shaft I used for 20+ years prior and was just used to. I still love the DG feel, esp in my old irons, but am tempted to try something slightly lighter in the 110-120 gram range, as I posted in the MD thread a few days ago.

I've hit various shafts like the PX, C-Tapers, KBS Tour, DG, etc on a Trackman and the biggest differences to me were weight and feel. The distance, launch and spin numbers didn't change all that much between shafts. I haven't really given the PXi much of a chance, but am interested because of the weight. The X-Forged are nice irons but I didn't think they were much of an upgrade in the forgiveness department over the X-Protos and older X-Forged I have. I wanted REAL help without going complete GI, lol.
