I'm surprised it took this long for that... man, Michigan hasn't looked this bad since... the previous game.

In other news, I was messing around with a RBZ Stage 2 hybrid and goshdarnit that had some serious ball speed vs others like the Anser, G25, and Adams Super S, which was no slouch either. The RBZ did have a lighter shaft but even when I swung easy it still had some pop to it.

Also, I played a round today and the 9015D is just awesome. More thoughts later.

I was giving you some time to mourn.

The RBZ Hybrid is a beast. Sometimes, I find it too long. Rushing up on my 3W range and leaving a gap between my 4i.

Yes, it's very impressive. I hit both the 18.5* Tour with the 80 gram shaft and the glued 19* non-Tour with the 65 gram shaft, and granted this was on a GS monitor, I hit them side by side with the others I mentioned and they were just that much longer. Also, the impact feel of the glued RBZ was pretty darn good. I remember hating the original RBZ woods when I first tried them, I even hit one with a Fuji P95 and it felt so dead. Anyway, I don't think I need a hybrid just for raw distance yet, but it was definitely worth noting. The Anser and G25 were both really nice and produced consistent results, which is probably more important for me in a hybrid. But who knows, an RBZ with a shorter, heavier shaft might also work...

[/quote]

Yeah, from one crappy old driver (RHT) to another... :D

I'm still in awe at how well I'm hitting the 9015D, especially with an 80 gram X flex shaft, but maybe that's what's helping to keep my tempo in check. I'm not a fast swinger nor heavy loader, but because I need to stay swinging smoothly, maybe the heavier shaft is in that "sweet spot" of weight. Pun not intended. I hit one off the first tee yesterday, in 40 deg weather dead straight to about 25 yards of a 317 yard hole with some slight downslopes closer to the green. Sure, it probably ran about 40 yards down a cold fairway, but still, it was my first swing of the day. Hit another one to 61 yards on a 342 yard hole, uphill all the way, but it was playing downwind. No 300 yard bombs, but straight + 280 on a 40-50 deg day is good enough for me. Curious to see the ballspeeds on this thing though. I did miss a couple, both about 10-20 yards right, but neither was threatened the OB/hazard lines like my usual miss.

Hit the Super 9031 but on a separate occasion (long time back, when I bought the DHY), and actually still holding out for a black one to mess with, but something about the face progression of the Super LS I don't like, so I never bothered to try it. I think the RBZ felt better and is more forgiving than the Super 9031, but that's all I can really say. I honestly don't remember the ballspeeds on the Super 9031, but that's nothing a trip to the store won't fix... esp now that the season is winding down.

I just saw your post on the previous page - All Blacks towel? Are you a Kiwi?!

BTW nice bag!

I have close ties, and have been an All Blacks fan since I could remember. I lived in Wellington and Auckland as a child long ago, and my sister was born there. After many years away my family has settled back in Auckland, so I get to visit once every few years and have played a few fun courses like The Grange, Gulf Harbor, Muriwai, and Whitford Park. And I get to refresh my All Blacks gear.

Yeahhh buddy!

It is a beast, sometimes too much. Ballspeeds are cray.

I've never had a chance to test that shaft. I'd like something with a little better feel than my rebar (Black Tie).

Haha. Well, the Phenom came with it, so I'm going try it out first. I've had success with the older RIP 105 hybrid shaft before, so I'm looking forward to it. If not, I also have a DI, Thump, and Fubuki AX to try. Man, I forgot how bad these non-glued clubs are for my tinkering.

I was starting to get proud of myself for playing with an older driver, 3W, wedges, not exactly the newest irons, etc. but then realized that I'm still overboard when it comes to graphite shafts... not as much as some of the others here, but clearly I still have the GolfWRX sickness...

The sad part is that between now and the spring I'll probably add at least a few more shafts that won't be hit. Looking for another nice 80 gram FW shaft as we speak, and possibly a 90 gram hybrid shaft.

What's the offseason without a senseless re-purchase of a driver that I've already sold twice now?

10.5* Razr Fit in Open, with VC 6.2 TS. I really like how this one sets up for some reason. I also have an Accra Tour Proto and a DI-7 with Callaway sleeves, so maybe it was a good thing I didn't get my act together to sell those this year.

Haven't been able to play much these days, but went to the range a few times. Got my hands on an old Vokey 248.06 head and shafted it up. I'm just trying to see if I can replace both my DPC PW and 250.08 to simplify things a little.

Here are some pics I took a couple nights ago:

Awesome collection Puppetmaster.

My questions Your 18 DHY, what is your setup and how does it perform?

I just purchase one with the stock shaft in a stiff and debating on a reshaft. I haven't hit it, but what I have heard and read it has a high trajectory with the stock white tie. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

The j40 is one of the best irons I have ever owned and will be hard to get out of my bag.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks, I'm definitely loving the J40s myself. As for the DHy, I have a Graphite Design DI-105X in it, playing somewhere around 39.5" to 40". No idea what the swing weight is except it needed a good amount of lead tape because I had it cut down from 41.5". I know I could get a designated weight from Adams to replace the current weight, but unless I had access to a weight kit of some sort, there's no real way to tell how much I needed. I just added lead until it felt right. I picked the DI-105 because I wanted something heavier to play the club shorter. I tried the stock shaft in S flex at 41" or whatever the stock length was, and also the DI at its initial length, and while it was really long distance wise, it was also harder to control. The stock shaft wasn't high launch at all, and paired up really nicely with the head. I honestly could have used the stock shaft alone and been fine, maybe tipped half to an inch, but hey, what's the fun in that right? Anyway, the DI-105 at the shorter length has given me a really reliable tee club that still has plenty of distance.

Hope that helps but let me know if you have more questions.
