Is the BioCell Pro the choice of head for the rest of the year? It's tough to top as you already have experienced.

I'm surprised you haven't given it a look yet. People with higher spin and/or higher swing speeds definitely benefit from this head. It's almost like a more forgiving SLDR, if I can even say that.

I want to say Yes, but as we all know, nothing is ever safe. It's been a while since I've been this confident in my driver, and I'm going to ride this wave as long as possible.

Oh yeah, and just because it looks pretty...

Honestly, the head itself is what makes this such a good driver. I can pretty much use any shaft in this and be happy right now.

put a un-flo'd lightweight regular shaft in there and let me know if that's still true! ;)

btw, i know you've mentioned this before, but what paintfill are you going to go with on that tank cruiser?

The only way I'd switch out of the BC Pro head is if they make one in masters edition green. Or if Cheyenne Woods goes out on a date with me, then I'm rocking all Nike for the next 32 years.

What's a good seller to get the cobra adapters from? How does the Fubuki K play in the BCP? The D+ has been really solid in mine but I've never been a huge fan of it in other heads. The BCP head must just be that good, right? I have an Alidila Tour Green I want to try and my trusty 6.2 TS just sitting around too.

At what point can I say I told you so. I've been touting about the BC Pro since the second I specced one out to my swing. Absolutely it's a more forgiving SLDR. It's almost unfair.

If you've got a favorite shaft you've used in either the SLDR, Nike Covert 2.0 or Big Bertha Alpha then give it a spin in the BC Pro head. For me those two shafts were D+ 72x and TS Speeder 7.2

I thought it might have been a little bit of a fluke the first time out with the 3 Wood and Hybrid but I'm still nailing 290-317 yard drives with the 3 wood and 240-280 yard drives with the hybrid. I'm seriously thinking of buying back ups. I recommend the fuel in the hybrid if you take the dive. Beautiful feeling shaft with that head.

You'll be surprised in a good way. These things are low spin and forgiving, great combo. Put your favorite shaft in it and it will definitely give any club out there right now a run for its money. [s]If[/s] When you pick one up, what shaft are you going to put on it?

Played Twin Lakes last week and Brambleton multiple times over the last two weeks. Almost went to Bristow last week, but couldn't quite get the schedule to work, I forget it's a 35 min drive for me. Can't beat those weekday $39 rates, plus pace of play there is usually quick. Are you still out that way or closer in to Fairfax, Centreville, etc now?

Cleaned up my posts a little because I meant to respond to you last night, but my phone screwed it all up.

Call Cobra Online Sales and order over the phone. Slightly slow to ship but you know it's authentic and there's good customer support (it's just their process to get the orders out the door is slow). The Pro adapters are also a few bucks cheaper than the list price of the standard and Plus for some reason. I also just received my Aldila Tour Blue 75 with Pro adapter, direct from Cobra too. Hoping to try that over the next few weeks.

The Fubuki K feels like beefier 6Q3 and from what I can tell plays very similar in terms of launch and distance, although I was hoping it would launch a little higher. Need more time with it though. I honestly think the head is so good you can just find a shaft you like the feel of and just adjust the loft to match. I still have the DI-7 to shaft up too.

do you even carry he driver?[/quote]

Why yes, yes. I do! BioCell Pro infact! Absolute beast of a driver but not just long. Very accurate as well. It's quite the anomaly actually. I find myself rarely ever needing my 3 wood anymore so it usually only gets used to drive off a tee.

That's a crazy deal, but Tuesdays tend to be the one day every week that I can't take off to play. I'll shoot you a PM to figure out schedules and we'll try to set something up. I live less than 10 mins from Penderbrook, on the other side of 66, basically less than a mile from the Fairfax Golfsmith.

Quick update, no where as exciting as JW's or some of the other WITB threads, but I know some people were interested in some of these clubs I've been trying. Especially after highly scientific and rigorous testing last night, ie. 150 range balls.

Cobro Bio Cell Pro driver - I've eliminated the Fubuki K 70 as a shaft option, the Matrix 6Q3 and Aldila ATX Tour Blue 75 were working so much better. I may try the Fubuki again but in a higher loft setting, just not for now because I like how the club sits in the 8.5 setting. The ATX Blue was a huge surprise, but may not be for everyone. I have had experience with its predecessors like the VS Proto, Voodoo XVS6/7/8/9, and RIP'd VS Proto 60, but the Tour Blue feels slightly different than those in that I can feel more kick through impact. Still pretty stable too, but not as stiff feeling as the RIP'd version. However, I'm not sure if it is better than the Matrix, so it'll come down to on-course testing, which is what matters anyway.

Hybrid - my 18* DHy with Fujikura Motore Speeder 9.8 came in yesterday and while it took me a few balls to get used to it, I'm really liking it based on first impressions. It actually feels remarkably similar to my old 18* DHy with a DI-105 in it. This has bumped out my 19* Super 9031 with Rombax 8D07, which is too upright for me. I'll either try to find someone willing to try to bend it flat, or will dump the head and keep the Rombax, which I still really like. The Super 9031 aka Pro Mini is a great feeling head and is more forgiving than the DHy, wish I could get this to work somehow. Both are very low launch and spin, but the DHy had more of a fade tendency to it, while the Super 9031, this one at least, was more likely to tail off left. The 21* TEE CB Pro-H with KBS Tour is firmly in the bag, but needs a regrip.

60* wedge - as much as I like the 2014 TM TP ATV around the greens, I still have trouble with it on longer shots. Can't seem to adjust to it, even on the range. The old Callaway Jaws 60* is just an old faithful that works time and time again. Not sure how much longer I want to experiment with the ATV, which has a KBS Tour V in it, vs the DG S400 of the Jaws. I'm having a hard time believing that the shafts are the difference but may try a reshaft because I really like the look and feel of the ATV.

Going to the range WRX style, with 3 driver shafts, 3 hybrids, 2 60* wedges:

14747590301_e4e1377c58_b.jpg

Hoping for one more range session or twilight round, then off to play 3-4 rounds on a golf trip.

CB5 firmly in the bag? I still love mine, great trajectory and feel.

I didn't experiment too much with the DHy but I did try to get the 9031 in my bag. I hit the ball sky high with every club but I just couldn't get the 9031 up enough. Plays like a driving iron, really.

Yes definitely, not even a second thought on the CB5; feel, trajectory, dispersion, distance, looks... it's essentially perfect.

I found the same with the Super 9031, which is why I wanted it to work, because it's just a more forgiving, and likely "hotter", driving iron. It was great at the beginning, but I've really struggled with it since.

Yeah, for me I can see the CB5 turning into that old fairway wood from 5+ years ago that just stays in the bag. Like you said, it's going to be nearly impossible to beat the looks and performance.
