i too put a heavier shaft in my DHy - ProForce V2 100gm, cant remember the length but same as a standard 4i
only hit indoors, but i can tell it will be awesome
can hit it much higher than a regular 4i for sure, club just feels solid

I'm actually thinking about getting a higher lofted DHy or even a 712U, and play it with a steel shaft in the 3/4 iron spot. I need to go dig up my old driving iron thread again to revisit my notes...

80B in the 9015D, deciding between the 8Z08 and P95 for the CB5.

I had that bottom Pro Plat - played it for nearly two years non stop. The only reason that I stopped was when I changed my grip to cross handed.

LOL I did it on my own, but it was a matter of time. I do get in trouble for all the carpet that's been torn up in other spots taking practice swings with my wedges and irons.

The CB5 is pending a shaft decision. It is essentially that, except I have an XCG3 15* with Accra Tour Z 85 for a 3W. I also sold my 18* DHy with DI-105, wasn't planning on it, but someone offered me decent money for it.

Have you tried the new TEE fairways? The CB Pro is essentially the same as your CB5, the XG7's are really good IMO. A tad bigger than what I like but they are hot, setup nice, and feel good.

Yeah, I switched away from that style of putter when I stopped playing as regularly and developed major alignment issues. The Odyssey V-Line has been working pretty well for me for the past year. My scoring isn't back to what it was when I was playing more, but I am making fewer stupid mistakes on the greens. Had a California Del Mar and Odyssey #9 too, sold them both at some point when I decided it wasn't worth fighting with myself to make it work.

Saw the XCG7s at a local fitting studio but never hit them. I liked the foot print of the Beta a lot and will definitely be trying one out when it gets warmer. Haven't seen the Pro, but can't justify that sort of money for a FW anyway.

Maybe when I can tidy up a little. Nothing too exciting, lots of Callaways, a set of Maxfli Revolutions, old school Ping putters (Zing2 & B60), and various hybrids.

Finally got some range time yesterday with all the snow melted and some real sunshine. Still trying to fill that pesky 3W to 4i hole in the bag and tried an Adams Super LSP with Fujikura Rombax 8D07 and Super 9031 with Aldila RIP 85.

 

Adams Super LSP 18* with Rombax 8D07 - This sets up really nicely, nice tear drop shape that sits square, but I still hate the white paint and struggled mightily with this. Not sure if it's the shaft or my ball position but everything went right - blocked, heeled, etc. I couldn't find the sweet spot at all. I hit a few pure shots that were tight draws, piercing, low to mid trajectory, and looked like they went a mile, but this is supposed to be a club that's in the bag for its consistency, not feast or famine. The feel of this is an acquired taste it seems, distinctive harder, hotter feel of titanium, but there's definitely a layer of solidness behind the initial tinny, metallic thwack. Can't say I loved or hated it, but it will need another chance for sure. Side note, my LSP came with a GP Z-Grip and that is one deceptive grip. It felt smooth, very hard, almost slick, but damn, that cord will rip your skin off when you actually hit balls with it.

 

Adams Super 9031 20* with RIP Beta 85 - I absolutely love the profile of this. Not sure why but to me it looks like the old PNT v1 than the original 9031 Pro Black. However, just like the 9031, SF, DF, this looked to be low spin and launch as well. It actually looked like it was flying lower than the solid shots I hit with the LSP. It was much more muted and dull on impact than the non-slot tech 9031 heads, but in a good way. I had no problem hitting this straight or with a slight draw (my natural shot). Based on one bucket of balls, this is the favored hybrid for me right now, between this and the LSP at least. My old faithful A12 with Diamana Thump is likely a little more forgiving. I initially thought I might want to reshaft the Super 9031 with a heavier shaft, but the way I hit this yesterday, I'm pretty happy with the RIP 85 that's in it.

Same, I know exactly how that is.

I didn't look at the Super 9031 for a long time either, until I was able to get my hands on one that was black . At least now with the newly released Pro and Pro Mini (which is the rebranded 9031), there are many more options.

I'm guessing that's a rouge? For some reason i just cannot get on with anything aldila. Not sure why but they just don't like me.
