Thanks man, that would be fantastic. We have some heated outdoor ranges here that I usually get out to. Did you get the TEE 2-iron yet?

Somehow I now have a Cobra Bio Cell 2/3 hybrid and [u]two[/u] X2 Hot Pro hybrids on the way, one 16* and one 18*. Not really sure what I'm doing just yet, other than I got good ballspeeds with them, esp the X2 Hot. And I've been itching to try another low lofted hybrid for a while since I sold my Adams Pnt and V3 16* heads. Maybe drop the 3W altogether and just go 16*, 18*, 21*? When I don't get to play it is so much worse with the experimentation...

That's a Japanese market White Ice IX #5 CH (crank hosel). Really nice putter that was 33", 355 or 360 gram head weight, with the Odyssey paddle grip. I just didn't like the feel of the White Ice insert. Wish it came in a White Hot or even just milled face.

Thanks. Between the X-Protos and J40 DPC, I think I have more than enough to keep me busy deciding, but I do really like the 2014 TM MC in terms of how forgiving they are. If I get anything "new" I would dump the J40 for those, maybe with some MB short irons.

 

Okay, not so fast. I wandered back into the Bridgestone thread, clicked on a few links, saw the diagram below, and now I'm not so sure...

Bridgestone 2.0 MM offset = .0787 - thats nice

my mp4s are .0989" = 2.4mm , maybe a little less as they are 2* weak which decreases offset.

That's kind of why I love the J40 DPC so much. Offset is 3.2 mm in the 3-iron down to 1.9 mm in the PW, but yet it is long from heel to toe and the dual pockets make a difference. Someone needs to slap me upside the head for even thinking of trying something else for the sake of variety.

I knew it must have been something like that. Because I looked at all the lines over and over and could not find that head style with that hosel.
All the number #5's I've seen had the bended shaft. I'm a Callaway/Odyssey fan. I've been using the WHP V-Line for the most part, but have a Protype #3
when I want to change up a bit. Just picked up a pristine Protype # 7....just came in today actually. Looking forward to giving it a roll.

The ProType 7 is excellent, hope it works out well for you. I had a V-Line last year and for me, it is one of the easiest putters to line up ever.

It's funny you mention that because I've always used an Anser style putter forever. But a few years ago I was having trouble lining up 3 to 6 footers.
I tried the Sabertooth model for awhile, but it was too big of a departure visually. But I agree that the V-Line is fantastic. Really enjoyed the ProType # 7 last weekend.
It will be in the bag tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that. What are you putting in it? Still liking my 3-iron, although I don't hit it quite as far as you do. It's versatile enough I dropped my 4-iron and let it cover both 3- and 4-iron spots.

To be honest, I probably hit it too far. Ideally, if the 2i pans out, I will weaken the 3i a hair. I'm trying a C Taper Lite. I've heard good things similar clubs (UDI), and it is lighter and higher launching/spinning than the Tour.

Yeah, it's a nice Fred Couples design that is slightly overpriced, but conditions have been great of late and there are usually good discounts online. It's actually owned by Marriott and they pride themselves in having a private club feel but with public accessibility, and for the most part they've done a good job with that vision. Always one of my favorite courses to play around town.

It wasn't epoxied properly to begin with I think. The ferrule separated a hair and I ignored that, but clearly should not have.

I told my wife what happened and she said something along the lines of "that's what you get for buying random clubs off the internet, besides, don't you have another 3 sets of irons somewhere?" Damn. She knows.

Time for a true BST/eBay clearout perhaps?

As a fellow J40 owner I recommend putting in another shaft. They are to awesome to replace...unless with another set of J40

Even before this happened, I was contemplating reshafting a single mid iron with a graphite shaft to test. Seems like a good opportunity to do that now.
