Top 5 drivers from the last 10 years

There was a thread a few years ago about what everyone felt the top 5 drivers ever were, which had recent stuff and also some older things. I'm more interested in what people think 2 years later, and keeping it to drivers still likely to be played today. Since it's my thread, I'll start.

 

In my opinion (and in no particular order)

 

Taylormade Superquad TP

Adams 9015D

Titleist 905R

Taylormade 510TP

Taylormade R7 425 TP

 

 

Ping G15/Rapture V2 could make this list for me as well, I've got some more testing to do first though

2. Nike sq tour ( it's that good)

Haha well I can honestly say I haven't hit one since they first came out, though I am looking for one on Ebay to try out

Not sure, but it should include the Titleist 983 series on it somewhere.

IMO you have to think of the list as not only how good they were when they came out, but also the staying power they had. I like my 2 current drivers better than anything on my list. But they came out 2-5 years later and aren't [i]that [/i]much better

1. Bridgestone J33R 460 (lowest launching/lowest spinning in the market)
2. Adams Tech A4 9015 (a flat out bomb)
3. Cobra Speed Pro D (incredible feel and distance)
4. Mizuno MP-600 (with the right shaft, one of the best out there)
5. Tour Edge XCG (very under-rated driver)

the G10 almost made the list, that really was a good driver. 510TP and FT-9 are also pretty high rated.

I can't tell what the top five are, but favorites, going backwards, are:

SMT DB+
SMT Indio
SMT Nemesis
HiBore XL
Bridgestone J33R 460


Playing around with a couple of Geeks, and a couple of Cobra S9.1 ProS drivers. If I get the right shaft combo, one of those could make the list.

Can't say anything positive about the TM's I've paid for (Burner, Superquad, R7 460, 282), and I can't get past the look and sound of the Callaways. Titleist 909D2 and D3 were good for me, but not great.

When I was hitting the Bridgestone well, it just felt wonderful. When I hit the Indio just OK, it still feels really good.

Oh, one more thing about the Indio - I've played it with Graf Blue, Blueboard, Proforce V2, and most recently, Motore F1. My spin might have been a bit high with the Blueboard and the Proforce V2, but I still got great results. Into the wind the Motore and Graf Blue were probably the best of the bunch. Maybe that's why you still see the odd guy on the Euro tour playing the Graf Blue.

Probably not a very popular choice & it certainly won't make any "best seller" lists, but I'd put the Nakashima HTEC 460 up against any of the heads listed here.

All fitted with X-flex BlueBoard's of one weight or another. I couldn't seperate the L4V and FT9 so they are joint 2nd. The Sq Tour is a superb driver, long, forgiving enough, great looking, super sound and sweet feel.... still the best bang for the buck driver.

I put the Bridgestone and the MacGregor right together. I thought the Mac sounded/felt more solid, the J33R was little more forgiving.
