Am I the only one to think the Cleveland Comp deserves a place in the top 5?
No, you're not. Rod Pampling is still playing one, last I saw. Which is pretty long for a driver. A seriously good head.
and, You wouldn't believe the number of good players that still see with the original Launcher with the gold shaft. and they still hit it long.
That one right there, might be a cult driver.

Unseen, in the background, Fate was quietly slipping the lead into the boxing-glove.  P.G. Wodehouse

the final tally for me resides with one theorum...when did this companys driver stop making strides and started making tweaks.

Ping G2 was the last "big stride" from Ping (I have played G5 and currently play Rapture V1)

Taylor R580

Taylor 510TP (for the players...great driver)

Titleist 905 R

Ping G400 MAX 10.5* w Xtorsion Copper

As far as their place of being the best of their time...how can anyone not have the 300 Tour on there. It paved the way for tour issue drivers and IMO is the best driver EVER for its time. For me a top 5 would be:

300 Tour
510 DF
975D
905R
Ping G2

XHP 3-Deep (13)- 7.3X @ 43.5”
X-Forged UT (#3- 21)- DG X700
716MB (5-PW)- DG S400
Vokey (TVD SM7 RAW 52 & SM6 RAW 58)- DG S400
Cameron Napa California @ 34"

Oh this is an easy one. Over the last 10 years:

- Taylor Made r510 TP: This created SO much buzz when it first started the whole TP revolution for Taylor Made. I still have one and it's easily the best feeling driver TM ever made.

- Taylor Made 2007 Burner TP. This created a huge Burner following and brought the Burner line back!

- Titleist 905R. Enormous Tour play. So much so, that the 907D2 didn't get any play because the 905R was so good.

- PING G2. This driver was a sales HIT. Everyone who was anyone had it in the bag and it was just an enormous success.

- Callaway FT-3. Callaway finally got it right with Fusion Technology, and this driver was a HIT. Really started Callaway along the path of Fusion Technology as previous versions were bombs.

- Taylor Made R7. Along with the 2007 Burner TP and r510TP, this introduced MWT and changed the game for TM.

Every other driver pales in comparison to the success of these 6 drivers.

Honestly, I agree with all of your drivers except the 300 Tour. Yes, it was a hit for tour issue drivers, but to be honest, I've NEVER seen one in person. Commercially, it never existed. Yes, I remember it was an internet phenom, and quite possibly on tour, but the other drivers you mentioned were HITS on Tour and amongst Amateurs. Have to agree with all the rest. Completely forgot the 975D.

In no order:

TM Superquad TP
Adams Tech A4
Cobra Speed S9-1 Pro D
Mizuno MP-600 (even the stock Fujikura wasn't bad)
CGB Max Limited (415 cc head, 2 degrees open)

Ping I15 (would be great, except for that fade based design--too hard to turn over)

Awaiting the Cobra S2, which I hit indoors a month ago.

Cleveland Comp....probably the best driver ever

Titleist 983K....Titleist's best driver next to the 909D comp, which is obviously way more forgiving

Tour Edge XCG....they finally got it right! Extremely straight but now it can keep up with any other driver out there

MP 600 so solid feeling and straight

Ping this is a tough one. G10 was awesome but all of the new stuff is great.
