Apex shafts are great! I have 4 sets of em, bought the last 2 sets on ebay last year. I've tried TC S3s, KBS Tours and the only shaft I like as much as my Apexes are Nippons.

I only play baldes. Currently bagging Miura TBs. Sometimes I play Redlines, White Cameos, MP 100s or Tour Grinds.

I could say all I own are blades, but because of rarity I still have a set of 1-SW BeCu Ram Lasers.

With the original frequency matched rifle shafts?? :-)

Played Titleist blades all of my golfing life, aside from my very first set which was a set of Taylormade Firesoles. ((I'm 25 now, so about 11 years now). I've had the 660s, 670s, 680s, 681s, and 690.mbs in my bag at various times but moved to the 681 eventually and stuck with them. That is until I got these babies in (no pun intended)....

My everyday set is Miura PP 9003 cavities along with Miura driver,3 wood,5 wood and HB3 hybrid....... Since I work for Miura that makes sense, but on "Special days" I take out my "Classic set".........I have the original set of prototype Taylor Made Tour Preferred blades...3-SW no markings other than the number on the sole...this was the '84-'85 model year...Matched up with Louisville Golf persimmon woods they are awesome fun to play with.....gotta be nice weather and I gotta be in the mood. Always fun to "Go classic" :)

I hear you! I demoed the S57's and the S-56's and IMO, it wasn't worth the money to pull my S-58's out of the bag.
I also demoed the SRIXON Z-STARS and the CLEVELAND CG-16 TOURs and, the CG-16's were quite impressive but, again, not worth the change.

Although all of my woods are SRIXONs except for the 7W witch is a CLEVELAND.

i dumped my S58s for LE Babies.

The Babies are much more forgiving than the S58s.

Well, getting back into golf after too many years out of the game. I learned on Macgregor blades back in the early 70's, went to Mizuno MZX's in the late 90's. I have never been able to hit them well. I've tried but just have never been happy; no feel to them.

I picked up an "old" set of 1978 Wilson Staff Tour blades and my son and I went to the driving range. After about 10 minutes with the Wilson's his comment was "WOW! Why didn't you ditch the cavity backs years ago?"

Yep, back in blades and Happy!! :D

My everyday irons are the 1998-2002 Hogan Apex, which are actually pretty darn easy to hit.

But when I want to challenge myself a bit more, I grab this bag...

some of the clubs lying around in the car, on the verandah, in the garage.... god they are everywhere..........
currently playing with the Mizuno MP32 with Hogan Apex 3 shaft in them.
prior to them it was the Hogan Apex II,
before them the Cleveland CG2's.
going back in time like this.
Tommy Armour 845
Hogan Apex
Wilson Staff
Hogan Medallion (I think that's what hey were called, in storage at the moment).
Wilson LT 2000 (hehehee).
and others forgotten.
I used to play with that Hogan 1 wood and the other woods a bit as well.
after using the MP32's and the Apex II for a while i went back and tried the CG2's again, they do feel pretty good,
but it was weird then when i looked at the blade on our closely mown couch grass fairways it felt like i wouldn't be able to get the leading edge under the ball,
the leading edge is more rounded and not nice and sharp like the Mizunos and Hogans.
and I have just realized why my bunker play is so ordinary,
I have been using a recent Cleveland 54 degree with 10 degree bounce,
yesterday I tested the Golden Ram Sand iron and it was so much better,
heavier and a better leading edge.
there is something weird about the Hogan Sand iron that I don't like, no idea what it is.
I have never seriously tried the Golden Rams, just bought them for the sake of it because they were almst as new, came with TT S300 shafts so they are a pretty mean animal, too much for me I think.

My first set of blade irons was a set of Ram - Gene Littler model Irons...still have them and hit them every so often to keep some sense of smoothness in my swing. Sweets when you get them good, murder otherwise. I've recently purchased a set of Hogans and Haigs that I'm dying to try when I get back stateside...plus a Wilson forged 1 Iron - just for added insult...lol...

That's interesting about the Hogan sand wedge,20 years ago I spotted a lefty Hogan sw in a right handed player's bag and it looked awesome but turned out to be unplayable (after I'd persuaded him to part with it for £20!),it was hopeless off sand or turf unlike the Titleist Tour Model '82/'83 blades, great set of irons and a sand wedge that never failed!

An old Wilson man here. Started out with Staff Bullet back design, then switched to Staff Fluid Feels which stayed in the bag for years. Upgraded to the FG51's, but while I was on a business trip out of the country my oldest son traded them in on a set of Mizunos for himself. I had given him permission to take one of my older sets to help offset the cost of new sticks for him. Wanted him to take the FATSHAFTS, but quess I didn't make myself clear enough, anyway, I regress, so I picked up a nice set of Goosenecks and used them as "gamers" until I found some Titlest 690MB's at a steal. Can't tell much difference between the 690's and the 51's. Have tried to remove the blades and go Hi-Tec, but never got the feedback, or ballflight, I desire.

Just saw this sorry. Yes the BeCu have the original rifles. Too much offset, haven't played em since the last decade.......

My Redlines just kicked my Miuras out of the bag last week.

I'm almost tempted to play my NEW Golden Ram Tour Grinds, but don't have the heart to do so....
