Does anyone else feel that the Vokey Wedge is too heavy?

I donno what they did but I'm turned off from vokey... they bigger grips and heavier wedges just dont cut it. I'm going towards the Taylormades or Cleveland with the zip groves.

What is the condition of the sand you typically play out of?

Same here. I could never feel the head in the Vokeys. I've got a couple of CG12's now and couldn't be happier.

I like my Vokey wedges because they do feel heavy. That is why I prefer them. I did order mine with the S300 shaft and to my specs. I agree with the others about the shafts.

I am not a fan of Cleveland or Vokey wedges, but of the two I'd go with Vokey. Many of Cleveland wedges are lite by comparison, much of that has to do with heavier SW. If you want a somewhat lite feeling wedge head, lengthen the shaft so SW increases giving a balanced overall feel; that's what I did. PW/SW and LW are 9i length, throw in wraps makes my LW is D7, even with a DGS200 shaft.

PS Cleveland and Titliest are known to use modify DG S/R400 shafts which also contributes to heavier SW, while lightening head feel.

The biggest reason OEM made wedges heavier are because players rarely hits full shot with them and they do a lot of choke down shot for certain yardage they are trying to pin point their shots, plus FEEL. FEEL are coming from weight.

Through the years fitting and building clubs, I noticed that a handsy players that rely of ball striking and manipulating the wedges from their wrist action tend to like a lighter swing weight/lighter set up.

So from my experiences, majority are still like the heavier set up. For some of you like a lighter set up, Check out fourteen wedges.

I would think that I'd spin them off the greens... How are well are you able to keep them on the greens?

I agree with the posts that prefer the heavier Vokey's, as I have been playing them for many years and I am used to them and I like the heft to get through sand, deep rough, etc...

So far, I love the spin from the vokeys, as I just purchased the 52 and 56. But as far as the feel, probably due to the heavier head and swingweight, they are difficult for me to control on feel and half shots to the green. I don't know that changing to a heavier shaft will improve this. Any thoughts on this? Thinking of re-shafting to the DGS300? As of now, I prefer the lighter feel of the cg12's. I will give them one more try today.

For those of you that have put the DGs300 in the vokeys, do you find them to balance out the heavier feeling head? Anyone gaming them with PX 5.5 or 6.0? Looking to reshaft mine, any thoughts? The s200 stock shaft is ballooning up the air too much!
