Need high bounce 58* wedge recommendations

I'm looking for 58* lob wedge recommendations. I need high bounce (12 or 14 degree?) and a wide flat sole (no C-grind) for my playing style and the soft course conditions that I typically play. I love the spin of the Callaway MD grooves (I have an X-Tour MD/PM sitting in the closet because it digs too much), but I don't think the X-forged or Jaws 58* wedges will work for me.

 

Seems like options are:

- Vokey SM

- Scratch D/D

- CG15 2- or 3-dot

 

Of those, does one stand out over the others in terms of spin from the fairway and rough? Any others to consider?

Mizuno MPT-10 56 13 bent to 58. Should be pretty high effective bounce and still really versatile with the sole grind.

Great suggestion - I didn't think about bending a 56! I suppose that this could be done with the Jaws 56 16 as well to get the MD grooves with higher effective bounce.

Can anyone provide a comparison between the MPT-10 and Jaws - are the sole grinds similar and which would have the higher effective bounce?

Cleveland CG15. They make a 58.14. I've got the 56.14 and it seems like plenty of bounce. Spins like none other and very consistent distance.

Scratch 1018 DD 58* bent to 59* gives me 15* bounce--SFU grind works great for me !!

Vokey 58.12 Superior wedge to anything out there.

Since switching to 58 the Vokey is starting to shine. The Nike VR 58.10 was terrible for me for some reason.

Scratch 8620 D/D will give you the biggest bang for the buck.

For me, I bag the Vokey SM 58 at the highbounce of 12. Love it!

I bent MPT 56/10 to 58/12 and quite happy; 58/12 (very versitale w/ C-grind though)

If you don't care about the new groove rules then go older style Mizuno Mp Black Ox 58-10. I play in soft terrain, much like yourself, and it fits all of the criteria listed in the post.

i just picked up a nike VR forged wedge in 58/14 i love it already...it feels amazing and plays so great. i got the old grooves to add a little extra spin. it might even kick out my cg14 60/12

Trying out my MP T10 56/13 bent to 58 which brings the bounce up. Played with it once and really had an easy time in the sand but jury still out around the green and from the fairway. Playing tomorrow and hope to be able to make a call on future of this experiment...

After a couple rounds with the 56/13 bent to presumably 58/15, my experiement didn't work and think it's probably best to look at another option. Scratch DD is pretty tempting.....

Of the options you have there I would definitely say vokeys. They almost never disappoint.

You could go with the PING Eye 2 SW (57.7*, I think). Plenty of bounce, great out of a bunker and thick rough.

Tried so many combos the last years but ended with 52/13&58/10 combo. Works in all conditions........ believe me........... my short game is my strength.....

Nike VR, or callaway.. Both awesome, I told myself I'd never swing a Nike club, but the wedges are great... Good luck in your quest..

As the OP, I appreciate all the suggestions. Just wanted to followup and give an update on what I ended up with.

After researching and testing many of the suggested options, I ended up with a Nike VR 56/14 bent to 58/16. The VR just suits my eye and I really liked the weight and feel. So far it has been working very well - still a couple of fat shots, but much more manageable. One concern I had was whether the extremely high bounce would be too much for the firm bunkers here in the Pacific NW, but this has proven to not be a problem for me at all.
