Recommend ball for long drive competition? Long & straight needed!

By the way, this is a guy thing. Twelve of us having our own "long drive" competition. Ball must be legal.

Watch out for the Dunlap Rebel, Caymen Golf Desperado and Bandit golf. They are all longer - and not allowed.

I do some long drive, but everyone has to use the same ball. I'm surprised you're leaving it open to more than someone's swing and club.
Either way, test the old school Top Flite XL, Top Flite Freak and Cally HX Hot. I'll post more if they come to mind. Best of luck!

bumping this for balls on the shelf today....not sure if I'll be able to get my hands on any HX Hots or Top Flite Freaks before my scramble on Friday (i.e. no time to order off the internet or hunt around many stores)

Bridgestone e7 is one i saw mentioned in another thread?

need the best distance/fairway seeker for ~115mph swing speed, using a high launch, low spin, x-flex driver setup.

It's also [b]NOT THE SAME[/b] ball used at Remax - The ball used there is much higher compression than the ones at dicks

I have hit most all of them ... HX Hot is good - The Dick's Slazenger ball is good. E7 is really good .. and usuable all around the course for me.

But as long as you guys are swinging north of 110mph - PINNACLE GOLD. That ball just flat moves .. and it IS the same ball that was used at Remax when Pinnacle was the sponsor.

It is used because Dick's is the title sponsor of the event (Dick's has an exclusive license for the Slazenger name in North America, so it is essentially a house brand like Maxfli). As previously mentioned, the Pinnacle Gold was used when the event was sponsored by Pinnacle. It has nothing to do with the performance of the actual ball.

As for the OP, my vote is for the Bridgestone e7. By far the longest and probably the lowest spinning ball I have ever hit.

I have tried several of these distance balls in scrambles, i think i hit the PRO V1 X longer than any of them

Throw another vote on for Pinnacle Gold Distance.

Pinnacle Gold if you're anywhere over 100 mph and all you want is distance! Easily 2 to 3 clubs longer for me with my irons not to mention my driver. Don't expect it to stop on a green unless you landed it 15 years short. Hopefully I can compare the E7 to it in the next few days after reading the recs above.

I'm not the longest hitter (around 100-105ss) but always seem to get a little more out of an e7 as well in scrambles.

Top Flite Gamer V2 is one of the longest balls I have ever hit. I hit it farther than the Pinnacles...and you can play it for other reasons too.

Don't know if they're made still but Pinnacle Hotshot was wicked long in a scramble I played in a few years ago. Hit one drive over 400 on a par 5.

I'll second that the ProV1x is the longest for me. Not sure that those distance rocks are any better.

I'll often end up hitting rocks for scrambles, but that's usually just so that I don't care if I lose them when I'm hitting last and wailing on it, and hit it 200 yards off line.

There has to be some scientific evidence out there on this subject, isn't there?

I did the ball fitting at GG last year and all the tour balls were in the top 5 for distance, most of the so called distance balls were at least 15-25 yards shorter.
