Anyone have an idea of the 3 wood shaft? Looked like a GD Tour AD DI? Also found him using the 2005 pro v1 kinda interesting. What are the major differences in that pro v and the new one?

the major difference is the dimples they were sued for paten infringement by callaway in 05 and lost so they had to change the ball the o5 v1 is still played by a large number of guys on tour as it was the best pro v ball the have made to date.

Titleist ended up winning the Callaway lawsuit on appeal and could make a sell the '05 ball if they didn't think that the new ProV1 & ProV1X wasn't a better ball.

May be a function of you not having the most up to date software to play it, as others are seeing it okay.

A RIP @ 70 X tipped 1.5"! WOW! I have the same shaft untipped in my 909D3 and I launch it at 13*. My ss is 113. What is Gore's? Is the S3 high launch?

pretty sure the difference is that the new prov1/x has a seamless cover simmilar to bridgestone b330 (wich titleist pay's for the privilige)

The judgement didnt come until 2008 and Titleist had already replaced the 05 version in 07. The 07 version was the ball that Titleist was forced to remove from the shelves but already had intentions of replacing it in 09 as usual. The lawsuit had no effect on the 05 version as it was already long gone. It doesnt matter as the judgement was appealed anyways.

Interesting on the ProV1 ball. B Langer said the same thing about his ball that he has titleist making him the 05 version ball for him.
