Whats your favorite course in MA that uv played?

redtail is one of my favs and i played there yesterday morning. overall the teeboxes and fairways were in pretty good shape with expception of the greens. greens were pretty long and thus quite slow. however, i cant complain too much since its early in the season.

I played Granite Links yesterday (Granite and Milton), course was in good shape. I am considering heading down to Pinehills this weekend, any suggestions on whether to play the Jones/Nicklaus course?

Newport is one of the three best in RI -- along with Misquamicut and Wannamoisett. And RI if full of great Courses. Other greats would be Sakonnet and RI CC, Shelter Harbor, Warwick and Metacomet are also excellent.

I'll add Quidnesset to this list.. Great course and excellent views on the back nine. I prefer it to Warwick CC.

I've played at Red Tail twice and I think it's a wonderful golf course. Played an abbreviated round at granite Links - interrupted by thunderstorms. It was kind of fun but excessively tricked out.

Jones greens are a little better than Nicklaus if that helps haha

I played last week and was a touch disappointed in some of the grass conditions but overall it was still great to play.

Everyone will say the Nicklaus course. I'm alone in liking the Jones course better as far as I can tell. They are both great and Pinehills is a great facility. Get there early and enjoy the warmup areas.
*edit: I had the two courses mixed up. At the time I originally posted, I should have said that I liked the Nicklaus course better (and therefore not alone in that preference). I have warmed up a bit to the Jones course from a technical standpoint but still find the Nicklaus a more enjoyable setting for a weekend links outing.

Haha tricked out is probably the best way to describe it. Hmm let's make a par 5 with 3 set landing areas with 100 yard hazard carries in between.

if you like modern public, tough to beat pinehills (all the amenities)
if you like private traditional, eastward ho & wianno compare with a long list in the cradle of golf.

Sankaty Head and Hyannisport are my 1 and 2 followed by TCC, Old Sandwich and Nantucket GC.

Boston Golf Club has a couple of mickey mouse greens that ruin the rest of the course...plus its closed for 2011

whoa all them?! Im playing Wannamoissett for the first time this summer to... My team plays a lot at the Bay Club, immaculate condition but its alright... I may do the AJGA at TGCCC and RIdge Club is always nice. Are all these for "work"?

Ledgemont, depending on the time of year, the rough will eat up your ball. Keep your eyes on it, and it may take a club that's +2-3 to get out.

Fall River is nothing to write home about tho. Why they haven't gone semi-private in the very least yet... (Got married there too)

Looking forward to playing Indian Pond this year.

Oh, my Fav in MA is definitely Crumpin Fox. It pretty much keeps the driver out of my brothers hands.

Indian Pond isnt something to write home about either. Much like Bay Club where you get perfect conditions and a poor lay out. Too much to be a member just justify, but nice to play

I'm playing them through the NEPGA Amateur Tour and the MGA Member Days events. I thought I'd give myself a bit of a different looks at golf courses this year. It'll be a new experience for me. It sounds like you have a good summer planned as well.
