My golf shop got a 5-iron in recently and I was able to hit it yesterday. You guys already know the deal of what they look like and the rumors of the forgings but I'll tell you right now I'm impressed with this offering. This iron DOES come stock with the Project X flighted, but I was informed that they can be ordered with other shaft options. The PX flighted is in the new chrome finish (not the brushed chrome). Overall the iron looks good at address, basically a small, compact X-Tour. The heads are extremely solid, I've never hit a Muira forged club so I cannot give comparisons there - but as far as I can tell, many people are going to be happy with this club.

These clubs will be the next set of irons in my bag as soon as I can find some hopefully w/ some black gold shafts. I love the thinner top line and non-bore through hosel look. Nice and clean look.

OK here is the deal. The X forged Protos are entirely different golf clubs PERIOD. I am sure they are assembled in CHINA like most Cally Stuff.
I am trying to get some pics of the retail X forged, but the toe is rounder and larger or higher. This is truely a fact...Also the top line is not nearly the same as the Protos...So for anyone out there trust me there is a difference, Also the decal is raised or embossed? as the protos were silkscreened and you almost could rub the lettering off!

As stated before feel is definitely different....

But now for the X 20 Tour look out that is a golf club that grows on you!

Not really seeing a difference that you're speaking of?

FWIW there does appear to me that there are some differences between the proto. and retail irons pictured above. The mass below the cavity appears to be a little thicker/have more meat (higher COG) than the retail head. It also looks a little more defined on the proto. IMO It's quite reasonable to assume that a proto. head and the mass produced version are going to be slightly different.
