New Sonartec GS tour proto fw Pics!

First seen...
Had a great time this week at the PGA with Bob Gotfredson (VP Sales & Marketing for Sonartec). Great guy who made me feel welcome. We had a fun time getting to know each other. Aside from that we are proud to show all of our members a special piece.

Having this GS in my hands I was ready to make a break for it. Truely simple and classic head shape. No fancy graphics just pure. I will let the Sonartec guys give us more info.

Thanks again Bob for your time and your company.

Very nice and glad to see Sonartec come up with something new that I probably will try out at a later date. I've played with almost every different kind of Sonartec fairway woods and all of them has been solid along with their irons that I'm currently playing with.

63 yr old's Bag of Hacking Utensils

TM Stealth 10.5, GD XC-6 stiff

TM Qi10 3HL GD DI-7 stiff

TM SIM2 Max 7 wood

TM P770 5-PW, DG120 S300

TM MG4 52* & 58* DG 120 S300

The face looks like a 1.5 or 2.0 height. Is it just me or is it a more shallow face?

I would say it is medium. It isnt deep- Nike t-60 or cleveland launcher but it doesnt seem extreme shallow either. I would say 200 steel from TM would be close but the overall shape is VERY different. This GS was a cross betwwen a TItleist pear shape and a callaway steelhead with a hozel. If that makes any sense. Looked Awesome. As I said before the head gave the feeling of confidence. Just like the MD does for me.

Hello Golfwrx's

The GS tour is the perfect size when talking face height and apperance!! I have hit ever Sonartec head prototype and production and the GS Tour :) is simple the best faiway wood Sonartec golf has ever made!!

From the the tee box it might be as long as a driver and from the deck as easy to get up as a 6 iron or old SS-01.

I wish I could get into the stock shaft we will be using. :) But we are currently filing trademarks and patents. It is going to really make people look twice!!

Sincerely,

Erik :help:

Any chance that Sonartec will release a Driver or Irons in the states?

Looks fantastic!

So what is the stock shaft? This club looks to be shafted with a VS Proto.

This club looks gorgeous, it is so simple and clean. About 10 days ago I brought out my NP-99 for the first time in ages and the performance was wonderful! I had forgotten what a great club that is. Sonartec makes such a great product and if Taylormadefan does not stop harping on me I might have to give the wedges a try too.

Lest you forget about the SS-07 that's firmly entrenched in my bag. I was a little upset that Sonartec quit on that model, but if this club performs as good as it looks, I think I've found my next fairway wood. Is the hosel on the GS bendable as well?

If not that might be a good thing to add to the retail models from a consumer perspective . . .

All this shaft talk has my head spinning . . . :help:

As JHilq posted (and I mentioned above, although I didn't mention Royal Collection), these have been floating around for awhile in Japanese domestic market form. I should also have mentioned that the versions I've seen for sale all have an Accra/Mamiya shaft, so maybe that's the stock shaft. Does Mamiya own Accra? I know they are a big Japanese conglomerate (my father has some Mamiya cameras).

TaylorMadeFan, as far as I can tell from the pictures here and elsewhere, it does NOT have the bendable hosel, which I also thought was a good thing. Perhaps it deforms too easily in regular play?
