'sup ppl. i just wanted to say that today i've broken 90! ;) i played 2 rounds of golf and one of them i shot an 87. :stop: i know, it may not be something to brag about but what once seemed to be an impossible number to break is now broken. so yeah... stoked. watch out 70's, i'm comin to getcha! :)

This is too much...you hit off the dirt and they have young kids sitting in front of you either putting balls on the ground or teeing it up for you. I would be afraid to hit the ball!!! ;) In the pic you can see what I mean!

Was out at Leilehua with pm hacker and 808golfer this morning. I saw ilovemyPINGS but he ignored me when I said "hey" in the pro shop. :fool:

 

Donald...I recognized you from the time you were at Carl's shop...and I asked Carl.."Who's Rapture is that?". Carl told me a guy names Don from GolfWRX and you came in later to pick it up. We never were formally introduced though...Carl's fault. :crazy:

 

Anyways...we were the first to tee off and I hit a beautiful slice that headed OB. But...I was lucky...it stayed safe. Still didn't matter. I managed to punch out of the trees to about fifty yards from the green only to sail the green and land in the trap. Sweet smooth double to start the day. Managed to run a nice string of pars after that, missing about three easily makeable birdies. Ended the front with a lovely smooth double again. ;) Started the back nine with a birdie and managed to hold it tight with another string of pars again only to bogey in the last three holes. Pretty much sucked it up all day. I played a bunch last week but sure felt rusty today. Maybe it was the colder weather but I didn't feel warmed up till the back nine.

 

The course looked great. I haven't played out there in about four years. The greens were their usual great shape and definitely held the ball well. With the front pin placement though, I played a lot more run ups then usual. All in all...a great day to golf while a lot of the other GolfWRX members in the continental US are freezing! :)

sorry about that...i didnt hear you. max was messing things up and i was trying to get him straight. at one point he had us as a sixsome going out. it was odd you actually got the first time. normally the older guys that went behind you get the first time. I normally play with him on tues and friday. 4 of us with 3 walkers play in 2:55 every tuesday...and the other 3 are over 70 years old. are one of you guys retired? if not, if you ever need a tee time just shoot me an email and I can hook it up.

No problem Donald. No..none of us are retired. Russ is in the Reserves so he gets the times for us. Usually when ever we play on a Friday we have to get the first tee time because we all have to work in the afternoon. If we don't get it, we keep trying all the courses till we find one. ;)

Well another morning of "speedy" round of golf! Played at Mililani and the greens were horrible!!! Ahhh another morning of speedy golf and this time only "one" breakfast! lol ;)

Geez, no kidding!! I've never seen Mililani GC in that bad shape. Look like I'll be avoiding that place for awhile. One breakfast was enough today, but then again...I'm sure we'll have two @Leilehua GC next week ;)

Rick...yup..they don't go well together. I was just reading an article in the Advertiser about each mile equaling one day of healing. Looks like I've got another 19 days to go! ;)

 

Mililani greens were awful. The majority of the greens were half sod and marked Ground Under Repair. The remaining wasn't much better. I don't think a Guerrin Rife would have passed the "dew roll test" there. A couple times I remarked that it was like putting on a washboard. It wasn't unusual to see the ball jumping and hopping along the way to the hole. I think there was only one birdie in our group of three.

 

3 hours at Olomana? That's awesome. I haven't played there in ages because it was always hard to get a tee time and if you did, too crowded to get through quickly.

Well I did try and play Ala Wai the other day but quit after 9 holes because I lost it. Literally lost my swing, had no clue what I was doing and was 10 over after 9 holes :drinks: . 2 doubles, a triple, numerous bogeys and a birdie. Don't know how I made a birdie. It was the worst 9 holes I've played in years and very sad. I had to wait a day to post about it because of my misery. I felt bad for 2 of my playing partners who were actually good players and had to see it.

 

I won't blame the MP-33's, but the swingweights are too light, even after I added lead tape. I might put in shaft plugs this weekend. Lost 3 drives O.B....the misery is endless. Hopefully it was a one time thing and I'll be ok by the time we have the outing. If not, then I apologize ahead of time for whoever has to witness the shots I hit. :crazy:

Well...three of us made it to Leilehua this morning. We had our fourth cancel out on us at 5:45am. He figured he was better off working a double shift on overtime then playing golf with us. I guess with Christmas coming in a couple of days, I don't blame him. I really need to complete my shopping as well. I was looking for Don but I guess I missed him while my stomach was bothering me. :crazy: Yeah..I know TMI! :)

 

Anyways...I felt better then last week, I wasn't cramping up in my legs but the cold air (61* according to my car computer) kept making my joints feel stiff. I really need to get to a driving range. Attempting to fix a swing flaw during the round sucks. I hit the ball okay the front nine but couldn't sink a putt within 5 feet. No Carl, I'm not blaming the new putter....I was just illiterate and couldn't read any of the breaks. Made the turn and figured as bad as I played the front, it could only get better since I was finally warming up. Then again, it could also get worse! Started off with a birdie and then a string of pars only to crap out on the 17th and 18th. Good thing there was no money involved.

 

Thank goodness the year is ending soon. Hopefully I'll get to put in some practice time in 2007....my scores lately really have been awful. ;)

no matter where you are everything breaks toward the front gate. the other thing out there is you cant die them in...you gotta hit them firm because the greens are a little bumpy.

 

I was out there. I went off bright and early at 7:00....finished at 10:05...our standby guy slowed us down :-). I looked for you guys, but I wasnt sure who I was looking for because I have never met you guys. I shot a nice smooth 71...bogeyed 16 (what an idiot!!) and then missed birdie putts on 17 & 18 dead in the jaws about 6 inches short. My lesson with Mr Castillo this past Wednesday is paying off. For anyone looking for a teacher that keeps it extremely simple, thats the guy you want. Everytime I see him he tells me the same thing, "Don you think too much, youre going to give yourself a braincramp!!!"

Brother.....I tried to protect your with the "someone". :) Anyways..you and Sean were putting on a helluva chipping display on some of the holes today. I think it would be better though if you guys skipped the display and just hit it once to get on the green. ;)
