Proposed dates work for me. Not sure about playing for $$ - never done it before, never established a handicap - I usually shot in the 80s ar courses like Hilldale or Chevy Chase. Bogey golfer if my game is a little off. 95 mph swing speed and I usually use 6800 yds. as max. tees. If you all want do the betting thing, that's fine.

There are two WRXer's, myself and golfchicago that are members of Prestwick CC in south suburban Frankfort. Great track with greens that will light you up. Depending on when you all do this I might be able to swing s round at our place.

I'm in on this option...would still do the Klein Creek but not a big fan of it. Either way, I'm in if the day works for me.

maybe we can get together a couple different dates courses(and whoever makes it makes it)....as it will be hard to get us all on one page.

maybe we could do a july 9th at klein creek(west) and july 23rd at prestwick(south) maybe an august 6th (somewhere....north maybe ??)

the bigger question is how to coordinate it all ?

should one of us, and i can if you want to go that route, compile an email distribution list ?
or use facebook, meetup, evite ????? thoughts/suggestions

seems like we have interest in the idea...now we just need to start nailing down who/when/where

When we do the AZ group outings, we avoid doing any deals with the courses, as they tend to gut you on group prices. Instead, we just agree on a date and course, then everyone books their tee-time, or one person designated for the groups books tee times under a last name for each 4some the week of play. Saves a lot of money, but we usually only have 12-16 players. Looks like you'll have a good turnout, take pictures!


I'll also be in Algonquin July 20th-25th and would love to play if I can convince the wifey to let me bring the sticks!

I played Golf Club if Illinois in Algonquin yesterday. Decent course, good price on Golfnow.

I'm in for any weekday rounds if someone is interested. I've got some time off this month. Most of my weekends in July are already planned for non golf related activities. Only the 10th, 24th and 30th are open at this point.

Why not book the 24th of July, and then we can find a place to go.

Klein Creek on the 24th $60 for tee times starting at noon, and $55 for times starting at 1pm.

Another option is to just get tee times somewhere. I really like Willow Crest in Oak Brook (easy to get to and a really fun course). They have rounds at $65 after 2pm on Weekends. So we could just do a 2pm start time with 3-5 tee times. Plus we could all bust out GolfNow and see if we can get an even better deal there.

Let me know what you guys think about the 24th and we can go from there? What time are you guys thinking? Noon to 2pm tee off time ok?

I would be willing to orchestrate everything, and I know for sure I can get 5-8 guys to play. I could even get my company to sponsor some gifts/prizes.

WIll be looking to play at a number of courses from august until the end of the season.

I've got some vouchers for Highlands of Elgin (5 twosomes)...

Probably looking to play August 20, say 1 pm (a saturday)
