Longest Holes?

Par 3s, 4s, 5s, maybe 6s?

I just would be curious as to what have been the longest holes some of you have played. I have played a par 3 from a course near my house thats 284 yards and water all along side the right from tee to green. Its brutal. I have also have heard of some par 6s in asian countries and other places. Like to hear what you guys have played or seen!

I have played a 265 yard par 3 (back tees at Port Ludlow GC in Washington state). Hit driver just left of the green and got a bad bounce into the lateral hazard.

I played a par 5 in Nevis that was around 675 yards. First time I played it I hit driver then 7 iron and was over the green. Just a LITTLE downhill. Shortest playing "long" hole I've ever played at sea level. Definitely made me feel "wrx" long.

Played #18 at Kapalua a couple weeks ago...longest par 5 on the PGA, right?

Haha oh man thats insane. Imagine saying "man I want to get home in 3." That just doesn't sound quite right! haha


To me it seems a bit unnecessary to have the par 6. Its almost like they had too much land and were like "f-ck it will build a par 6"

Anytime a par 3 is 230+ I feel its pretty long. I would rather have a hole that is challenging on its own merit rather than distance just being the only factor...

My house is 4 miles from there. used to play it every monday during high school cuz our home course is closed on mondays. Terribly kept up. I lost my drive almost everytime on this hole cuz the rough was so unkept.

We played a practice round there, and the rough was about two inches over my ankle. We [u][i][b]knew[/b][/i][/u] where balls landed, all four in the group agreed, and we couldn't find them. Not even by trampling the grass step by step. It was frustrating as all hell.

it was terrible. I stopped playing there after high school because I would go through balls like crazy even though I hit good shots

I played there a few yrs. ago. It was in great shape then.
The problems we had was with the ranger. He wasn't very friendly and bugged us all day. We had eight playing and wanted to do some money holes . He wouldn't even let both groups go out on the same nine so we couldn't do closet to the pins and some other money things we wanted to do. Then he was on us for little stupid stuff and said we needed to play faster even though we got done nine in 1:30 hrs and the other nine in 1:45. The place wasn't even busy and there was no one close to us the whole day. Evidently he got on our other foursome too. After 18 holes we stayed for the other 9 and they left because they couldn't take the ranger any longer. I geuss he had nothing better to do since the place was slow that day.

SilverRock, in Palm Desert, CA is an Arnold Palmer designed course that is 7,578 yards from the tips. It has a 237 yard par 3, 525 yard par 4 and a 658 yard par 5!

I've never played them from the tips, but a couple of courses on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama have par-5s over 700 yards. Nightmare.

Longest par 3 I've played is 260 yards Buffalo Run #13 here in Denver.

Longest par 5 is 696 yards. If you can believe it, it is reachable by big hitters with a 340 yard drive (downhill) and then a bombed 3 wood. Colorado National Golf Club (FKA Vista Ridge) hole #15 in Eerie, CO.

Longest par 4 is 525 yards at Colorado Golf Club unsure of hole #.

I can think of 3 par 3's here in town that range from 255 to 267 throw in another handful that are 240 plus. Sadly it seams as if course designers think the best way to stretch a course is having 4 200 yard par 3's. The longest par 4 I can think of is 508, plenty of par 5's that are 600 plus.

we have a pulic course built 1920's has an up hill 221 par3 and an up and downand up 585 par 5 ..... not to crazy now but for its time they were long. and still play hard sandy hollow golf course rockford il

Farmstead in Myrtle Beach has a par 6 that plays 767 from the tips. Fun hole! Hole 7 @ Wicked Stick in Myrtle also plays 265 from the tips, par 3. Fun taking a 3 wood out for a tee shot!

#16 @ Greendale Golf Course in Alexandria, VA is 234yds from the blues - par 3. It can play up to 245yds, if I recall correctly. It plays ~2+ clubs uphill, has a kidney bean shaped green, and only a slight slope toward the tee.

I'm playing at Dismal River (Mullen, NE) this weekend. From the tips, it's 7584 yards (no, I won't be playing those tees).

Here is the view from the 17th tee at Black Mountain Golf Course in Western North Carolina. 745 yard par 6. Used to be the longest hole in the US. Keep the tee shot right of the pine trees, second shot thru the gap, and then you can get home in three. Green is small though.

I mean he said it was "just a LITTLE downhill" clearly meaning it fell off the face of a mountain.

Theres a par 5 by me where your 2nd shot basicaly gets 150 yard bonus from this massive hill. When you get to about 250 yards in front of the green the fairway just falls off crazy steep downhill. I have never seen a ball stop in this hill. So if you hit a bad drive about 200. You then have about 200 to the crest of the hill. You can pull a 4 iron or whatever you hit 200 and it will go somewhere between 350-400. Around half of it being roll.

The hole is tons of fun, but a lot of luck too.

Hills Golf Club in Gothenburg, Sweden - 13th hole Par-3 from the 7100 tees, 262m !!! (thats 286 yds !!)

Played it in high wind from the tips and hit driver - wasn´t even close to reaching green...great course and fun hole , but just pointless at this distance..

Both of these holes still play long to this day Love the rockford golf as the price is always right compared to the nw burbs

Our longest hole here is #17 at Chennault golf course. Just over 600 yards

Purgatory in Indiana has a Par 5 at 741yds, might have been 760. I can't remember. What I do remember is hitting a monster drive (for me), a crushed 3W, a very solid hybrid that landed just short of the green, a very good chip to 5 feet and made the putt. I'd take a 5 there all day.
