Those were both solid clubs. The 9031 is a really tough smallish hybrid to beat.

Honestly, I really like my irons right now. But, there are no plans for anything to replace the Apex line this year... And like most of us we like to tinker. Especially when I'm stuck in MN most of the Winter months.

I ordered an 815 (non DBD- not my caliber) - Although that G30 (although crazy sounding) is working for me.
I will most likely order a set of VPC (like I said, I like my irons now, but like to get new gear)
I'm not sure on FW's yet... I went through a pile of trial and error this season.
wedges: I will most likely grab a set of the new raw Nike wedges coming in April and whatever Callaway comes out with
Putter: I'm really happy with my current one

I like the sound of your game plan, I'm the same way.. Planning on doing a pretty big driver shootout here soon.. can't wait to hit that DBD and Vapor Flex. The 915, is meh so far, but still gotta hit it.

Never say never, but with my limited swings of the BB hybrid, I think it'll do. If I'm between my 3HL and my hybrid or my 24* UT and my hybrid, I always seem to go the way of the FW or my UT anyway

As much as I agree with that... There has to be some value of doing a side by side comparison on a LM between drivers, right? Even indoors over the winter? Maybe I'm just grasping at straws here trying to extend the golf season a tad despite the ~12" of snow that fell in my front yard earlier today.

For sure, but I really think there's nothing like playing the driver on your home course to see where you're ending up, misses, etc...

So I spent about 10 minutes with the Isawa in the sim yesterday, and then played my "indoor
league for the next two weeks (18 holes). The first ten minutes were fantastic. So stable and really tough fo rme to make it go left (unlike the Kiyoshi Gold which would get really snappy for me). During my round, my swing was a mess with all my clubs for some reason (all arms, reflecting back), but I was hit big pushes right.

I'll try get on there again today and get some numbers for you guys. Also ordered it tipped .5 and at 45.5" playing length, and was going ot see if I need to tip it more or not (as I want it to play at 45"), definently stout enough for me, so I butt cut the final .5" and I think that will help, too. I might even regret tipping it at all.

Well Mother Nature has given us a dandy today, and we'll be able to play golf today (a course an hour away is opening-up) and they have 140 golfers signed-up for an 11:30 AM shotgun start on their 27 hole layout. I hit plenty of balls in the sim. trying to decide which shaft I will play today (its was between the Oban Isawa 65 05, the Aldila Rogue 70S and the Ping Tour 65 X): Winner so far, and in the bag today: Ping Tour 65 X, yes the not so exotic Ping shaft will be in the 815 Alpha today .
