So, I played 18 at The Wilderness (Tower, Mn) today with my pops.

 

Weather was PERFECT again. Zero complaints about any clubs.

Hope to have some pics early next week. Need to get the M1 430 in hand by then. Quick rundown;

 

- 9.5' M1 430

- Grandura 550 XS

- Fujikura Pro 61 XLR8 XS

 

I should be able to find a pretty nice combination between that head and those shafts. If not, I'm 100% happy with my DBD. Just have an itch that needs scratching. LOL

I'm sure the golf gods will start their madness soon, but the last couple times out, everything has been in sync.

 

Shot a nice little 76 last night and even lipped out a few shorter par putts.

 

I installed a new grip for craps and giggles on my putter, and it's been really good (i thought this would be a short experiment, as typically like a heavier grip on my putter, but it really is a good one)

I just did yesterday. I few of the other guys I went are going back for the real rounds.

 

Glad I made it up to see the spectacle, but lots of people watching so few holes is pretty crazy!

I made it there on Tuesday and I couldn't agree more. Really glad that I made it there but I don't feel bad about watching the actual event on TV either.

Went back a few pages and couldn't find it. Remember seeing something about murdering out a putter shaft without removing or replacing it. Picked up a Scotty X5R and love it but in the sun the chrome double bend shaft reflects a starburst out from the shaft onto the head. Thought it was you?

hahaha, yes I have, and that's typically when I stroke it closer to the toe

New wedges ordered up. Never tried this grind, but sounds like it's right like a great fit. I have a steep swing with my wedges on full shots, and I like the square set up look at address.

I snagged a 58V Oil Can off the BST and absolutely love the thing.

 

When you hold it in your hand, it looks like it might dig like crazy. However, after the first shot you realize that it just skims right off the top of the turf. Pretty impressive and shocked me by how effective it is for my swing.

 

Actually, it has made me look at the Srixons as my set of irons for next year, primarily because of the grind.

Same clubs in my bag since Spring - several failed experiments in between.

 

You can add an M2 3HL to the list (I think?) tried playing it with a stock kuro kage 70 now... definitely not for me vs. the 816/888. I do have a GD shaft en route for I try in it.
