I might try dropping the Apex 23* for a T-MB 4 iron with a graphite shaft. Not sure how I'm going to go bout it, but with the .355 hosel and .370, hybrid shafts - do I sand the shaft to fit, or attempt to bore the hosel? Or a combination of both?

 

One dilemma, if I end up not liking it, I'm either stuck with an f'ed up hybrid shaft, or an f'ed up TMB head.

 

Thinking Rome 988, or trying to find a cheap AD-DI pull.

 

Anybody out there trid the AD UT Hybrid shaft? I think that one is .350 parallel tip.

I would sand it. Did the same with the KK TiNi HY in my T-MB 3. Do like the combo a lot, but would love to try a Rome 988 in it.

Just pulled the trigger on a AD UT 95 to try in the iron I haven't even bought yet!! lol

I put a steelfiber 110X in my Apex 20* hybrid n love it. Had it in my UDI 18*, but didn't love the head. MP 54 3 iron bent to 19* w/modus 120 TX was just as forgiving as UDI, but much better looking. It alternates with the Apex hybrid.

This showed up today - just waiting on the TMB 4 iron to arrive- shipped yesterday ETA 7/6.

I have Steelfibers in my Apex mixed set and they are stellar! I've thought about adding a driving hybrid 3-iron form some days to rotate with the hybrid.

Apparently my T-MB 4 iron came in Tuesday, but I gotta wait until monday afternoon, as I'm still up north, and will be playing in a great friend's Member/Guest in Duluth over the weekend.

So two rounds in - and the TMB 4 combo has been great off the tee. There are 3 holes on my front nine that it will get constant use on.

My last two rounds have been BRUTAL! Putter has been the only thing saving my scores.

 

Am I alone in how fast the swing can go south? It's usually just and alignment thing, but I almost need someone else here to diagnose WTF I'm doing....

I've been 'in the groove' the past few weeks and played four days in a row this week. Yesterday was the last of those four days and I was happy with that. I physically and mentally didn't have the same game that I brought to the course the day before. I do agree that alignment is probably the culprit.

 

Take a few days off and clear the head LD.

Driver was the only naughty club though, so I know I'm doing something stupid (most likely gripping tight and trying to steer it reflecting back).

 

The putter was AMAZING - I only had 26 putts on the day.

 

I even walked an emergency 5 hole loop at my home course on my way home - DRIVER still no bueno. Today I'm taking the kids trout fishing in Lanesbero while my wife actually plays golf (she has a scramble today) - And she has to defend her last place title :)

 

I'm meeting with our asst. pro tomorrow morning, and I'm hoping he'll be able to see what I'm doing wring with my driver.

What a beautiful (appropriately named) golf course. I really enjoy starting a round with a par 5, but the toughest hole on the course is a bit of a stretch. I'd play a blue/white combination if I ever teed it up there as well. I laughed when I read your comment about the 'emergency 5 hole loop' as I've done the exact same thing after a sideways round. I should have went straight home as the shanks stayed with me for the 5 holes.

 

I read your well wishes at 9:15 after I had already played 23 holes (18 + an extra 5 holes). I'm struggling with a case of the thins at the moment, but scoring hasn't been affected all that much. As you mentioned the putter can be a great equalizer (or 'Eraser' as Mikey calls it).

 

Thanks for sharing Lance. Good luck with the 'tune up'. I'm sure it's something minor.

I love the Jewel. Have only made it up once so far this year. I pared 15 for the first time in 40 ish rounds there.

So this was an EPIC last two days .. Straights on Sunday, a night at The American Club and Irish course this morning ... So awesome! And we had PERFECT weather
