I highly recommend the distillery tour at Bardstown Bourbon Company. I give them a lot of credit for having the patience to wait for a 6-year product to release as their own (Origin series). Fusion #9 will be their last Fusion release for six years if I remember correctly.

Boss gifted me a bottle of Bardstown Fusion #5 last month.  Will be a new one for me.  Hope to kill it with the guys next week on the night before we fly out on our annual golf trip.

My dad (80's), enjoys a couple spiced rum n Cokes before bed.  I gifted him a bottle of Blanton's for his 80th birthday and told him it was "not to be mixed with that sugar water".  My mistake.  The bottle still sets on the counter.

Played a private club for free this summer and gifted a bottle of "Old Elk" to the pro for the pass because I liked the bottle cap.  Anyone here had it that can comment?

Old Elk is solid stuff. I haven't had the infinity blend, but I'm sure the guy appreciated the gift as they're a respected brand.

I havent had the blended, but was gifted a single barrel straight wheat.  Very tasty... but that is my favored profile (Buffalo Trace lineage).

I was excited to try this new offering from Old Forester and I’m sure others are looking for some feedback as the new offerings are sparse this time of year except for the January Larceny and Elijah Craig barrel proofs from Heaven Hill.

We normally do tastings blind to eliminate bias but I got home at 10:30 last night so we were more in the “drinking” mode than “tasting” mode. So it wasn’t blind but we decided to put it up against two other 10-year-olds in Eagle Rare and McKenna. We also threw in the most recent 100 proof release from Chattanooga which is 4 years old.

Out of those four, the Old Forester 1924 was our least favorite by a significant margin. Apparently, this is not the regular Old Forester mash bill as I’ve heard they used the Early Times mash bill, but I could be wrong. We found it to be slightly over-oaked, astringent, and lacking in depth and sweetness. At $115 to $125 it was also the most expensive of the four.

I like Old Forester in general and I think their orange 100-proof product is one of the best values in whiskey. 1924 just did not do it for me, unfortunately.

1920 is dollar for dollar possibly the best readily available bourbon on the market

Just made an ad on BST and had some bourbon in the background that I am also selling for some unexpected home repairs - It was recommended that I drop a photo in this group. Never thought I would sell any of the WLW or GTS but didn't find the right occasion to open it.
