Bad news fellow Craft beer lovers. Heard through the grapevine that Anheuser Busch is in serious negotiations to buy Bell's brewery. If that happens the quality of several great beers that they make will go right down the shitter.
As long as they leave Hopslam and Two Hearted Ale alone... Maybe they'll increase the production of Hopslam and make it easier to find. I can usually find one or two six packs year, but that's about it. I've got to start finding out the release date and start my searching then. :(
It's early in January normally. A couple bars are having hopslam release parties on January 7 and 8 so bottle release should be soon after that.

I used to drink the big labeled beers, Sam Adams, Coors, etc... After spending time with my neighbor, he introduced me to the World of Craft beer...THANK GOD!

I am interested to hear what everyone here drinks or collects and what they like. I will go first.

I would have to say my favorite is Dog Fish Head as a brand as well as the collectables. In NJ here there is a Brewer called Beach Haus which i have began to like on a Summer basis, but will indulge a little in the winter with their Winter Rental (Lager.)

My Top 5 that I buy on a daily basis is as follows:

Dog Fish

Dale's Pale Ale (can's)

Lagunitas

Troegs

Full Sail & Session

What's everyone else like?!
I had some lagunitas the other night, top quality!

Not sure if you can get Brewdog in the states yet, if you can then you should definatley try it out.....

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind. I knew it was in January, but by the time I look for it, it's scarce.

Big fan of rogue, stone, Mother Earth

Brooklyn Oktoberfest maybe my favorite session beer of all time
I might have to try that since Brooklyn is sold in my area. My favorite session beers are Stone Levitation Ale and Goose Island Honker's Ale.

The Levitation Ale is listed as an Amber Ale on the bottle, and while it does have the malts found in Amber beers, it also has quite a bit of hoppy bitterness to it. The Honkers Ale is listed as an English Bitter and it has less of a bitter/hop taste than the Levitation Ale. Go figure.

I'm ready for some hopslam this year.

I've already bought my half case of Founders RIS, and been sippin on it. Pretty good this year.

I've still got some 2011 Bigfoot. It's drinking nice!! Good cold weather brew.

I opened up my 30th anniversary sierra nevada tonight. It was the barrel aged combo of bigfoot, celebration and pale ale. It was excellent!

Has to be one of the best threads I have read in years! I love crafts. And I am getting a lot of info on some I have not tried yet.
A few of my favs are:
DogFish Head (the 90 minute, and Brown ale) I had a chance to try the 120, but at 12$ for a 12oz bottle I just could not do it.
Stone..
Flying Dog is great.
Two Hearted Ale
Hoppsecutioner
If Magic Hat counts... Then their seasonal are freaking amazing.
I am not sure about cider, but I had a few from N.C. that were so good!!

I am not a big fan of the 120 minute. So in my opinion its not worth the money. I like the 90 minute quite a bit though. Two Hearted is one of my favorite beers.

I have some 120 on hand.. 2010-2011 and 2012. I drink one every once in a while. It's not an IPA in my book, but merely a full body, boozy Barleywine wannabe.

The 90min is okay, the 60 is meh.. the 75min I think is the better of them, but I rarely get their regular stuff. I'll buy some of the 750's here and there to try.

Two Hearted is a great common IPA. All Centennial hops. Pretty tasty, easy drinking good executed Pale.

Bigfoot is a Barleywine. I am just getting into is style of beer. Seems like most people prefer to age them to let them mellow out some. My plan is to drink one of them and put the other three away for a year. Never done this before but I'm interested to see how the beer changes. I just finished a Lagunitas Sucks and it is a really good IPA.

Heelch O'Hops tonight.
How is that? I saw it the other day at the store and it's pretty much the only thing I haven't had yet from Anderson Valley.

Their IPA and imperial IPA are both pretty dang good.
Not bad at all. Pretty strong too.

Well I picked up a six pack to try on my way home and im one in and its delicious. I understand about ageing but not sure these will last too long in the fridge.

On a side not I was able to secure two four packs of Founders Kentucky breakfast stout when its released in April.
Relish in the 6 packs of it. It'll be going the way of a 4 pack next year. It's a good barleywine, good interpretation of the style for sure. I like to sit on them for roughly 4-6 months myself. A year is good, really good. Easy to forget them when I have other stuff to drink. I have 2009 Wake n Bake, and Founders Breakfast stout. I even still have 2 bottles of last years KBS amongst my cellar.

Good score on the KBS, thats a good haul if they remember to save you 2 4-packs in April.

Haha, they better. I have a good relationship with the owners so I'm not worried.

I really enjoyed the Bigfoot. Still have a few left but may pick up another 6 and let that age. Also going to try Bells third coast ale this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up on the release date. I was calling around for it last week, but nobody had it. Tonight, my wife surprises me with (4) six-packs of Bell's Hopslam Ale.

Just as good as last year with maybe a little more sweetness at first. Still has that great bitterness at the end. $19 for a six pack is steep, but definitely worth it.
