128 MPH Driver Swing

Hey guys, I know a bunch of people have been asking to see my swing so here it is. The finish is brutal, i know. I laced it about 340 with a high draw around the corner. Here's the link, don't bash the swing too hard.

If that swing is 128 mph.....than this swing is at least 135.

haha ya that's fine with me. I didn't expect anything good to come from this but I've been asked to post something I'll get some trackman numbers up when I get to the course tomorrow.

I'd welcome anything, ever since I stopped playing in the NCAA my game has fallen off slightly due to lack of time to play/practice and wouldn't mind any tips

Don't want to sound mean or anything, but it looks like you are trying to swing fast for the sake of it? Doesn't look like that is your natural tempo or even your usual swing.

It is about to get HOT in here...

128 mph or not, that is an aggressive pivot thru the ball - definitely no stalling there, but something is not working with your lower body to make you finish out of balance like that.

kudos, MB. me personally, i like what appears to be a 'homegrown' bubba watson swing. definitely not robotic. be careful with your back though.

I know its unorthodox but I have been playing hockey all my life and formed my swing around a slap shot. That is my usual tempo with all clubs, it's extremely aggressive and lacks form. It has taken me quite far in the golfing world although I know there is quiet a bit of room for improvement

thanks for the support, my swing has been trashed on all my life but it gets it done for the most part I did not have a lesson until I got to college and by that point my swing was ingrained in my body.

Now that makes sense -- now that you say it, I can definitely see "hockey" in your golf swing.

I wish I could turn / pivot that aggressively thru the ball. Thanks for posting that up.

Why not post a video using a 210fps camera? At least use something better than a paper cup with a piece of broken glass in it.

I've seen some 340yd drives, but they generally have never looked like that from the delivery end. Are you playing at altitude?

Here is my 125 average swing. Been up as high as 130 on one monitor and never below 120, most have me in the 125-127 range.

What distance do you normally get.? Great swing, btw...


Im finally feeling healthy again (slipped disc in neck) so Ive been working back to getting my distance back. the past few times ive been on the launch monitor its been around 112-114 on average. And im averaging 284 yards on drives. (this is GPS verified after 6 rounds with almost even the amount of holes that are going into the wind, and those with the wind at my back). Im trying to get my swing speed up into the low 120s. With technigue, and working out, and working on flexibility. so if I can get 4-6 more on my SS I can add roughyly 12-15 yards on my drives. So that's what makes me curious on how far u normally hit drives.

Thanks for the compliment! Well it kind of depends. I see you live in Tulsa..I'm originally from Bartlesville and live in Fayetteville now. I have played all over Tulsa and this area my whole life so we play in similar conditions. I consistently fly it over 300, assuming not into a stiff breeze. Don't really get suprised if I have 3 or 4 drives over 330-340 a round. I would say at 112-114 consistently you chould be averaging about 300 total assuming everything is optimal.

^^^ Good stuff man.. Yea as you know, its weird if we're playing in a round where there is not a steady wind. I played a round two weeks ago and it was a hot day and hardly any wind at all. I was hitting clubs 10-15 yards over the green. And carried a drive 315 yard into a creek. needless to say I dont know my distances in calm conditions.
