I prefer stand bags. They are more versatile.

My ideal bag would be the midsize staff bag, but very few manufacturers make it (I know Titleist does). What I like is that it has all the great looks of a staff bag but in a size that's closer to a cart bag. I really wish Vessel bags cost less because I would have already bought one by now!

I will never not use a staff bag as I learned long ago shoes go in the big front pocket off the course and headcovers go in it on the course. Although I do keep an old titleist midsize staff bag in case I need to carry.

Have a couple of old Jones bags for them carry days and a couple cart bag ones for the trolley/cart adventures.

 

Will say though, there's a few staff bags in the collection I've collected over the years for holding sticks by the same companies on display sort of.

I have all three types, but gamer is Ogio Shredder Stand... I've always liked the Wood-E arrangement and it even works well reversed on a riding cart. Previous gamer was Ogio Silencer Cart which I really liked, but the grip mechanisms were failing after only 5 months so it was replaced. Not having the Silencer has meant going back to iron covers, but more for noise prevention than protection from dings.

 

My backup set resides in my office in an Adams Staff Bag with my company name and logo on it, while spare clubs live in an Academy Cart Bag out in the garage. I have all the different bases covered if the itch strikes me, and I also sometimes will take the Staff Bag out to work-related tournaments if they're local (it tips 50lb mark when flying and barely fits in my SKB).

I've got a few carry bags, and 1 Titleist Sunday bag that I've been using on the regular. I bought it initially for walking, but I showed up to a course one AM knowing I was going to ride that day, and completely forgot to switch bags. Needless to say, I was surprised the Sunday bag worked with the cart. It's sort of a relief, I carry less things in the bag, it's less hassle when moving things around, and very "minimal" even with the 14 clubs. I played as a single, so the bag sat a little sideways in the cart, so we'll see how it does when I ride with another player.

I game a carry bag but have found myself riding much more than riding. Does anyone else have trouble with their bag always getting turned around when strapped in the cart?

I like to walk, but most of my league play won't allow it. My solution is to let my playing partner drive the cart. I carry a Sunday bag between my knees while riding from my tee shot to my next shot, then I hop out of the cart, play my next shot and walk into the green, carrying my bag. Back on the cart at the next tee box. I don't slow league play down and I get my exercise. PING Moonlite Sunday bag.

I walk and carry a Jones original. I even walked on vacation this summer, which seemed to surprise the pro shop staff at the resort as they explained to me that the cart was included in the fee.

Carry bag... Don’t walk a lot, but I prefer the legs for when I’m at the range, getting clubs out of the car, etc. I’ve had my cart bags fall over before and I’m not a fan.
