Ping BeCu Putter 10 Minute Refinish

I just did it on a Manganese Bronze Anser, finished five minutes ago and it looks amazing. I can't beleive how well it worked. Also, it really only took ten minutes. Its kind of the color of a Cameron Pro Platinum series now. I did three different stages of steel wool. Thanks for the post.

I've never tried to gain a patina....I would think just rub it in some wet grass....Or leave it outside when It's humid...Other than that, not a clue...I'm sure some members know how to though ;):):)

Once the Tarn-x is applied and the copper brought back to life, how long before it begins to develop a noticeable patina? Days? Weeks? Months?

On the one hand, I want some patina and on the other, I want to try to eliminate some discoloration / stain / tarnishing (see images in referenced thread below). But not at the expense of waiting a long, long time for it to darken. And especially if it won't even work on the stain shown. Thanks

Got the Tarn-X, the stain is gone - and so is the patina. I've got a putter that now looks like a new penny. Hopefully the patina will develop fairly soon, although I don't mind the bright look. Certainly more eye catching than the chocolate brown it turns into.

I'm interested about the MgBr Pings as well. I coked an Anser and steel wooled it over the weekend. I'm wanting to clean it up some more. I'll post pictures later tonight.

Since Chris is still posting I have three questions.

1. Do you still have that old desk?
2. Can you count the number of braincells lost over the past 5 years while working on a putter and breathing in acetone?
3. How long ago did you sell that putter... And who to? (just doing a braincell check)

To answer your questions:

1) Threw out that desk about 2 or 3 years ago I think.
2) What brain cells? Between cell phones, computers and acetone I think they might be all gone. LOL
3) I have no clue where that putter is anymore. LOL I think I lost it in one of my moves or I sold it, or traded it??? Beats me. LOL

Having re read this thread I realized that I posted on this thread 5 years ago. As a follow up to my MagBr question I did a couple of them and then tried to Gun Blue one of them and it turned purple. Traded that a few years ago. I also dipped one in Plum Brown and it came out looking like copper with some color streaks. Still have that one.

Chris, was that thread before you went to Iraq?
