Sounds cool...what's the closest shaft to these that is already on the market?
Steelfibers might be the closest, but having seen them up close and fitted, they're not that close. I've used Steelfibers too. They should be able to get a bend profile where folks might need it, depending on weight.

Looks like I gots me some testin' to do ! :clapping:

So where you able to test these out yet? I was interested in the IS900 series, but are the evolution to those.
I have only had a chance to do some indoor testing. Both the Proto and 800 series "felt" very smooth,
almost soft at impact. Much "softer" than the Steelfiber95's I am currently gaming. The 800's launched about 1.5-2* higher than the the Proto's with similiar spin rates.I like both Recoils, but, For me the Proto110's are too heavy and the 800's being parallel tipped are going to be lighter than I like in the short irons.
That said, after talking to UST, I am holding out for the Tour95 which we are hoping arrive early December. If you have any other specific questions I will try to answer them.

Has anyone tried these yet? I'm interested in hearing what you thought of them.
Freddyottawa,

I am currently playing the recoil 110 prototype and coming from Aerotech 110's. I was recently fit into these at UST and I couldn't be happier. Nothing against the Aerotechs as they are great shafts but these are staying in the bag. I have noticed a slightly lower launch along with less spin both on the course and trackman. The biggest difference has been feel. The Aerotechs felt very dead compared to the recoils. You should get in touch with UST Mamiya TPS. He runs their new fitting center at UST's headquarters. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely interested in trying these, but I do have the steelfibers on the way though. If they don't work out, these are likely next on the list.
I've been gaming them since Nov. Ken at victory custom golf has them.

the tour proto 125's, not sure there's a difference, but these are fab.

I played the Aerotech's. Very solid and very good. The Recoils are a bit tighter in their dispersion and if I had to describe the two I would say they feel a little less "boardy", but that's not really a good word to use. But they just feel better me. So I'm going to them in all my irons.

Mob,

The Aerotech ami99 players spec is designed to play very similar to the standard Aerotech with the difference being in weight. The long irons are in the 95-98 range with the wedges getting closer to 110. That set up all depends on the specific player and what their needs are. I feel that better players will benefit from a constant weight shaft in their irons, but there are some case that going lighter in the long irons can benefit someone in a potential case where they need a bit more launch from the long irons or speed. The are some differences between the Aerotechs and Recoil prototype line. First off is launch and spin. The prototype line will launch a little lower while also spinning less compared to the Aerotechs. The easiest differentiation most people have picked up on so far is feel. The RecoilPrototype will have a smoother feel, almost as if there is a kick at the bottom. By the way, the same premise with the Aerotech players series can be achieved with the Recoils. I can weight sort different profiles to match up any requests. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any further questions. Thanks

All of them. You can get a bit too stout if you're not fit properly or get bad advice from a clubmaker. I know a guy in Dallas right down the road from them. He's the only one I trust with my stuff and has never let me wrong. Like the UST rep says, they can make darn near anything to fit what you need it to do. It's an amazing process.

Was on the phone with Ping yesterday discussing some different shaft options for a set of irons... The guy told me these were now available through WRX, and the price would be $92.50 for a re-shaft.

Sounds like a ton 'o money, but they want $62.50 for their proprietary stuff, so perhaps not if ordered on a new set of irons...

TaylorMade M4 Tour 3W on GD YS Reloaded
Titleist 816H 19*, 22*, 26* on Blue Board

Just wanted to clear a few things up regarding the Tour version of the recoils as I have had numerous pms about this specific model. Unfortunately it seems as if there has been some misinformation regarding the Tour Recoils being available through Tour SPX dealers. The tour version will only be available as upgrades through manufacturers as that is what they have been designed for specifically. The tour is actually a very similar profile compared to the prototype series except it has more torque and launches slightly higher and spins more than the prototype. The tour name is actuallly going to be dropped as it has been a little confusing. Feel free to PM me if anyone has further questions. Thanks

Does anyone know the difference between the "prototype" Recoils, which go for about $100 a piece (and seem to be on the heavier end of the spectrum), versus the Recoils that sell for about $45 a piece are a a bit lighter?
I believe the main difference is the Protos are stiffer in the tip and are hand made to tighter tolerances
