I think its different in that the "Aftermarket" one is the PXv Tour and the Callaway is just the PXv. But still looks like a good stock offering.

Good question as the X Hot Pro Driver specs show the Project X PXv shaft 6.5 as 76g?

The new PXv comes in both a Tour 52 model and a heavier model for players who like that weight range. Mid 60 in 6.0 to Mid 70s in 7.0. X Hot Pro uses this version.

I suppose since they've introduced the shaft I can now comment on it. This is the shaft I last got as a member of the WRX test group for True Temper in Prototype paint trim. The one I have is flat black with no distinguishing markings. It went into my Superfast 2.0 v2 LCG I had the BiMatrix in. I'm absolutely murdering that combo right now. I've always been kind of skiddish about an ultra lite shaft, but this one is incredibly stable. It's low-mid launch for me and I can keep the spin down with it. I'll post numbers and such later on, but the shaft is the truth.

I agree with you 100% on this statement, as I got the Tour 52 in a 6.0. It is by far the longest shaft I have hit in a driver. But with being long, it is very stable and has a great smooth feel. Amazed that a light shaft can feel so good, every other lightweight shaft I have hit seems a little more harsh.

PXv Tour 52 5.5-7.0 flexes 50-56g
PXv Tour 6.0-7.0 flexes 65-77g

Launch characteristics will be the same, just 2 weight options.

There is a co-chat coming up real soon with PX and Callaway that will be your opportunity to learn a lot more about this shaft and we'll do a more formal launch thread about the same time.

I hit a matte black proto of this shaft. It was ok, super light yet well balanced. Reminded me of a 50x Rip Beta Phenom-proto I had a while back. Too easy for me to flip quick and go low left. Might be more for the swingers and not the hitters.

@ Rookie and Knudson

What are your swing speeds if you dont' mind me asking? I have always been 6.0 in the driver and irons for PX. Ordered my 52 in 6.0, but wondering if I should tip it. My SS is 108-112, but I'm looking for launch.
I honestly don't know what flex I got. It's matte black and only had True Temper GolfWRX Prototype on it. No flex indication or anything. My swing speed hovers around 112-113.5 depending on the monitor I'm on.

With your swing speed, I would guess you ball speed is around 160ish? If thats the case, I would consider tipping 1/2-3/4in. Just got off the phone with my fitter, who has just hit it in a Cally Razr Fit, and although, admittedly the swing weight was D5.25, he said it feels really soft under the grip, so assuming you would want you Driver around D4, that would tighten the Cpm a touch, but with your ball speed I would still say tip it a touch. My fitters ball speed is only around 145-150mph, and he still feels its quite soft under the grip. My ball speed is around 150-154mph, and he has recommended I have it tipped 1/2inch, so with your ball speed, I would defo say 3/4in tipping.

Yes, don't be confused by the Callaway offering in the X Hot. They are hesitant to use the words 'made for' but it is kinda like the equivalent of the 'made for' Ahina that Titleist used in the 910. The PXv Tour 52 is definately a Tour only shaft. Totally different animal. I hate these conversations about 'real deal'/'made for' issues, as the waters are being mudded by the Manufacturers.

Either way, Callaways offerings in the X Hot/Pro, are not the same as the 'Tour 52' from what I was told today by an ex Callaway R&D guy, now Professional Independent Clubfitter.

Maybe not the same. Why?
The new PXv comes in both a Tour 52 model and a heavier model for players who like that weight range. Mid 60 in 6.0 to Mid 70s in 7.0. X Hot Pro uses this version.

Thanks!
Seems that usually the "Tour" model is the heavier shaft? Interesting.

Same flex characteristics?
PXv Tour 52 5.5-7.0 flexes 50-56g
PXv Tour 6.0-7.0 flexes 65-77g

Launch characteristics will be the same, just 2 weight options.

There is a co-chat coming up real soon with PX and Callaway that will be your opportunity to learn a lot more about this shaft and we'll do a more formal launch thread about the same time.

Wow really? That means its a $300 dollar shaft in a club that costs $300 in total. Awesome deal! Great also, that if we wanted the Tour 52 in the Cally X Hot, that we could get it for no upcharge. Fabulous deal.

What are your swing speeds if you dont' mind me asking? I have always been 6.0 in the driver and irons for PX. Ordered my 52 in 6.0, but wondering if I should tip it. My SS is 108-112, but I'm looking for launch.
I was sent the 6.0 and I am swinging right around 107mph. It seemed a little whippy when I was just waggling the shaft, but it is stable.

My fitter also said it feels a bit loose at the waggle, especially under the grip, I have ordered mine at D3 swingweight instead of my normal D4, and having it tipped 1/2in too, so that should tighten things up just a tad. Should be here tomorrow to slot into my 913, so it'll be interesting to try and report back.
