Vaguely interesting but people are a lot more savvy these days and the fact that a certain player uses a certain make of club has little impact on sales. The skill of the Pro or off course salesperson moves most gear these days. Nike weren't big sellers when Tiger was in full flight and Ram couldn't shift buttons when they had Price and Watson.

I like the idea of Bubba to Oakley, they will suit his image more than the boring Travis stuff.

Unless Mizuno is going to throw a bunch of cash at Luke - and to me it would make sense that they do and remain visible - it appears time that Luke makes the last few years hard work and success pay. It just seems that Titleist would be the right fit - plus no need to change ball.

If it was Nike, Taylor Made or Callaway they would have had it leaked by now - it is a pretty big signing.

I can't see Luke moving to Titleist, i read an article a while back that said he moved to titleist for a while when he first joned the PGA tour but didn't get on with there clubs and ended up going back to Mizuno. Among many they are still considered to be the top brands. Just look a lot of amateur bags, especially amongst the elite, you will still see a ton of Titliest/PING gear. They just continue to crank out high quality products and rely on their brand loyalty, which is very high.

Callaway is IMO is a little different. I think there was a time that you could have put them more into the Titleist/PING category, with their original big bertha's and their late 90's/early 2000 products. But then they kind of lost their way as they have admitted and kind of fell from that status. Now I think they find themselves more in the market to the masses category, of high visibility, big name tour presence and getting your products into peoples hands. I think they have done that and I hope their sales this year reflect their quality products they are releasing and the work they have put in to re-establishing themselves.

It is also why I think a brand like Cleveland, which doesnt market to the masses and doesn't have that huge brand loyalty is struggling to keep afloat.

Yes, because the constant Titleist commercials about being the number 1 ball played on Tour or ball count for any given tournament is their way of showing they don't care about marketing to the masses.

I'm so confused reading that Titleist does not care about its clubs? I'm playing PING stuff now but that couldn't be further from the truth. Titleist offers two driver heads with 5 different lofts in each and SIX different stock shafts. They offer two different 3 wood heads with 8 different lofts and the same amount of stock shaft offerings. They will offer two different wood style hybrid with ten different loft options. In right handed alone that's what 28 different heads. That's 18 different shafts in a stock rack and multiple more classic shafts (Blueboard and Whiteboard x5ct just to name two) for NO upcharge. Nike is offering two different heads (std and tour) with ONE head that changes loft and ONE stock shaft for each. Two different fairways that change loft. Hybrids... 3? So Nike has less than HALF the same SKU's of Titleist and 1/4 of the shafts and Titleist is the one that does not care about their clubs? I don't get it....

Cheyenne is not a new signing. She's been on their staff for 6 months. She also doesn't have any tour status.
