Bandon tee times for off-property guests - early August

Does anyone have experience calling for tee times at the Bandon courses inside the 21 day window in late July/early August? I know that staying on property is preferable, but we have extended family coming and a house in town is necessary.

Can we safely assume that if we call 21 days out, we can get at least one round in per day at the property? This will be my first trip up there.

May be tough, you'll have to be flexible, don't expect early rounds that allow replays. Problem is Bandon is all about hard core golfers and most take advantage of the replay rate s folks staying there are play 2 or even 3 rounds a day

I've been trying to find out more on this policy and I've heard you may be able to book outside the 21 day window but you have to pay in advance and tee off after 10:00AM.

My annual trip in Feb has gone the route for offsite lodging this year. We got a great deal on housing and it's looking like a golfer's dream house( [url="http://www.thebandonhouse.com/"]http://www.thebandonhouse.com/[/url] ) but didn't expect tee times to fill up so much for winter. Compared to last year it was dead, I guess word is preading about the calm conditions in late Winter. Speaking w/ one of the reservation rep's Jan/Feb tee times are filling up fast. They have a strict policy of booking inside the 21 day window for non-resort guests. You also have to pay up front if booking w/i the 21 day window.

They DO ALLOW outiside of 21 day reservations but you will have to pay an extra $50 per tee time. That was a little ridiculous since we have 10 tee times X 4 days at $175 a round. We're talking about an extra $2,000.00 on top of the already $5,000.00 we are spending as a group on tee time reservations. I thought with numbers like that they would be a little more accomodating to my group but they stand by their booking policy. One positive is since we are booking 4 days in a row they do allow you to book all 4 days once the first day is w/i the 21 day window.

I'm also going to try and call to speak w/ a reservation specialist to see if booking $5k worth of tee times will give me any other priority before say a single walk on.

Just gave it another call and spoke w/ Anita. She's def the one to speak to as she was more accomodating than the last rep I spoke with. Tee times are looking sparse but she's worked w/ me to get our 10 players out and all in order on the tee sheet no less. We're missing out on Bandon Dunes this year but top notch service from her and trying to make the best of it. We are still over a month out from our planned trip in Feb but sounds like we can make this work.

Another amazing property in the area, I've seen quite a few. I see that is another $50 on top of the additional off-site green fee. They want you to stay onsite for food and beverage. To bad it's not an extra $50 in "Bandon Dollars" that can be spent on breakfast, lunch and 19th hole....I'm guessing no problem going thru $50 a day.

The Bandon House is sweet. Clearly the place to stay if you have a group and staying offsite.

We actually saw another property that was already booked w/ a putting green in the backyard! There are some amazing dream houses built around around there.

Thought I'd revive this topic based on my experience both last April and this May.

Both last year and for our coming trip we stayed/are staying off site. We live in Portland so we can still get the resort rate without staying on property. Both times we've had no problem getting pretty close to our exact tee time preference for 4 rounds in 3 days (and both times on Fri-Sun). We call a few days before the 21-day window opens to get a sense of our options and then call in first thing in the morning on the day to book (and can book all three days when calling 21 days from the first day of the trip)

This is www.bandoncottage.com we stayed there Mon - Wed last week.

4 master suites...outdoor propane firepit...5 min from the course.

Was perfect for our group. The same type of home at the course was $1900/night...we paid just under $600/night.

Booked our tee times 21 days out and got OM, PD and BD with the times we wanted - $200/rd Oregonian rate...would have cost us $290 a round to book outside of the 21 day window.

That seemed egregious so we gambled a little bit.
