It fits nicely on my x-Tour 3-wood, but I have to stretch it over my Cleveland (195cc - same size as a BB Warbird driver). The driver sock by comparison must be made for a 600 cc driver.

I bought a head cover for a three wood and just put it on today... i went out to play, walking of course, and on the 12th hole i notice the leather badge i guess thats what it would be called is ripping. It ripping pretty bad actually i am surprised because i thought illiac made quality products. I have 2 other head covers for my driver and hybrid but havent put them into use yet that i also bought at RBG. Does illiac have good customer service? or should i just go back to RBG for help?... these headcovers shouldnt be ripping after one round.

From what I've gathered they're factory blems and 2 or 3rd hand quality so I didn't expect much when I ordered. 3 of my 5 are perfect and nothing is wrong but I got 2 three wood covers that are terrible. Iliac just dumped these to RBG because Iliac is getting out of the wool industry. So going for a refund or exchange on a 5 dollar headcover is kinda pointless. But it's always worth a shot.

They were made in china by a retailer who bought Iliac's leftover wool. Iliac wont confirm their authenticity. How do you think RBG got them so cheaply?

I read your post and while Illiac could have done that (what someone there told you), I really have a hard time believing it.

First off, companies like that - they are really not manufacturers they tend to be great marketers though. And to think that Illiac happened to have some gigantic warehouse stocked with a crapload of wool (New Zealand wool to boot), again, just does not make sense. Then to add on that, they just happen to have a batch of leather shield patches for all these covers that have not even been knit yet.

Could be accurate, but I don't buy it, not one bit.

So, this wool was spun dyed, shipped to the US, then sat on, then the company said we are out of the wool cover business, sells it to a chinese company, it's all shipped over there and then knitted, and patched and labeled and pakcaged, then shipped back to the US and sold for $6 a cover.

No.

They had em made, sat in a warehouse (in the states) maybe not climate controlled - or not well controlled, combined with stock not moving at high prices. so they sold them for pennies on the dollar to a liquidator, who flipped them for 2 or 3 times what they paid and everyone (minus about 10 people here) are happy.

This could account for the leather - I still have a set, my daughter as well and gave 2 as gifts - all are as good as the day they arrived, no leather issues, no issues of any kind - have not lost a cover (though some are larger than others).

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

What is so hard to believe about a company having a lot of leftover material they will never use, selling it to a chinese company that uses it to make a similar product, and then markets it as original. Not hard to believe at all.

Not trying to suggest that you (or they) were not telling the truth - rather, that it could be one person in a big chain saying what they think.

It seems kind of crazy that they would have a warehouse of unused wool (to me). That they would sell that wool (and the leather medalions), then ship it to China (after it had been shipped to the US from New Zealand), then have anyone make the things, ship them back to the states and in the end sell the product for $6 a piece, in identical packaging wtih identical labels. And have anyone make money.

Now, sell wool on ebay or something - sure, but tons of wool just sitting in a warehouse someplace - with all the logisitcs involved - make money? Seems very tough to do.

That's all I am trying to say.

Could it have happened - sure, odd things happen all the time, but seldom for $6 per item (in my opinion).

So I sent an email to RBG and they will take defects back. I'm getting a new navy and white 3 wood cover and a gift certificate for the amount since they don't have a navy red and white 3 wood.

Edit: they're sending replacement and not taking the defect one back. Great customer service from RBG and Shaun for helping me out.

[/quote]my three wood cover fit pretty baggy on my three wood so I tried it on my ping anser driver and it fit. That being said these covers are obviously inconsistent in size so there would be no way to tell if another three wood cover would fit this way.

I would bet that the truth is Iliac tried to move production to China, then got their first batch in and saw what they had gotten into quality wise and decided it was time to get out of the wool business and cut their losses by dumping these via RBG. My one set looks great, sadly the set I really wanted to look great are a mixed bag of sizes/lengths and nowhere near acceptable if I had payed Iliac prices for them, but I didn't so they are okay for price payed.

My tassel head covers have been awesome. None of he badges are peeling and they go on very snug. I guess I lucked out. Just wish they would have offered the white with black stripes tassel in a driver to complete my set.
